The Chevakians used to come through the pass to deliver their goods there so that they didn’t need to wear the suits when going as far as the City of Glass.” Rider Barton said, “I’ve seen that place. No one lives there. The road is still there, if terribly eroded.” Jeito pushed the tea things aside and unrolled a map onto the table. It showed the latest layout of the land, including the new farming communities and the tiny fishing harbour that had sprung up on the western coast, to the south of the Aranian mountains.
