Death in a tenement building
The city of Rome rolled across seven hills, filling the valleys between with magnificent structures and awe-inspiring forums. Wide streets, built only as a Roman engineer could build them, filled the city between its walls with swift, easy access to any part of the city. Rome, in the time of Augustus Caesar, was one of the largest cities in the world. People from all parts of the known world, from even the far reaches of the Land of Chin, came to Rome to marvel at its wonders and gawk at its beauties.
But there was another part of Rome very few people wished to acknowledge. The Rome of the poor and discarded. The Rome of the maligned and unwanted. The sick and the dying. The criminal side of Rome with its roving gangs and crime-filled back alleys.
