While Frank was solving the Pickford case, I had my own problems. I thought I was going to devote twenty-four hours on knotting together all the loose ends of the Holdridge case. I started out that way. I drove over to the campus and went to Karen"s office. She was not there. I then found a pay phone and called her at her apartment. No one answered. I was becoming really worried about her whereabouts, but didn"t know where to look, or even what to do. I had a hunch she was okay, but I didn"t know. Not knowing always has a way of gnawing at my insides in a way that makes me want to take a bottle of aspirin. My next stop was over in the basement of the computer lab.
