“Is your roommate around?” Frank asked softly. “No. She"s taken the week off to go home to see her mother. She won"t be back until sometime next week. I was going to replace that garrote before she got back. She would never have missed it.” “Where did you get the blood?” I asked as I rubbed my chin and tried not to think how tired I was suddenly feeling, “Why throw all that blood around?” “I thought it"d be one of those erratic clues which would stifle any reasonable explanation.
