Guplu's heart was in a panic - Doglu, with whom he had once shared a deep hatred, had now become the true leader of this small tribe of remnant Kobolds because of his attachment to the True Dragon. Although Doglu did not show anything wrong on the surface, Guplu's heart was still always on guard.
Also as a Kobold, Guplu was envious of Doglu's situation. However, since Godzilla had already accepted them as servants, it wasn't too late to compliment them.
Guplu didn't seek to be able to replace Doglu's position in Godzilla's heart, as long as he could be remembered by the True Dragon Master, then he wouldn't have to worry at all about when Doglu would lash out. Though what he feared would rarely happen - Doglu didn't take Guplu's usual hatred to heart, but instead felt a bit indebted to him for popping his egg.
However, Godzilla had been busy fighting ever since he took them in. Now that he was finally idle, he had gone back into slumber. This made Guplu want to perform, but he couldn't find the right opportunity.
The invasion of the Sahuagin showed Guplu an opportunity, and he wanted to prove his worth by taking great credit for the battle. However, the Sahuagin's resistance was very tenacious, and despite the Kobold's sneak attack having the desired effect, two Sahuagin escaped.
Guplu volunteered to go after them, but was caught in a catch net and very smoothly became a prisoner in the battle. If it wasn't for these Sahuagin wanting to probe the Kobolds through Guplu, he would have been killed the moment he was captured.
During the time he was captured, he tried to babble as much as he could and didn't say anything of value - which caused the Sahuagin to gradually lose patience. Despite repeatedly being beaten to death, the Sahuagin would always stay back at the last minute, as if they were deliberately keeping him alive. Guplu could only clench his teeth and hold on.
As the Kobold who thought he was the smartest among the previous tribes, Guplu knew very well - if he didn't say anything, he still had a chance of survival, if he did, he would really die. However, he could not hold on much longer, and what supported his thoughts now was just an emotion of not wanting to lose to Doglu.
He secretly swore in his heart, that as long as he survived this hurdle, he would let Doglu have a good look, even if he had one less egg than him, he would still be able to suppress him. To be honest, the only thing that could save him now was Godzilla, he wasn't sure if Godzilla would come here to retaliate just because of one or two Kobolds, but that was his only hope.
But the Sahuagin had other ways of making him talk. Yielding to neither persuasion nor coercion, he was sent to a Sahuagin priestess with sagging skin and old bones. He remembers only the wave of the fish-bone staff of the Sahuagin priestess and was left in a state of confusion. By the time he had come to his senses again, he was back in the cell where he was being held.
The Sahuagin who had learned everything from Guplu's mouth had decided to attack in a big way, not just for the lake occupied by the Kobolds, but because of Godzilla. Just what was it that allowed them to have the confidence to subdue a giant dragon?
Guplu didn't realize that he had already revealed all, the Sahuagin were already making preparations. He, on the other hand, was to be sacrificed to the Sekolah, along with many other slaves, the moment the mermaids went forth. Guplu didn't know exactly what the Sekolah was, but figured it wouldn't be anything good - the word sacrifice was inherently linked to blood and darkness, and the more barbaric the civilization, the more so.
"Master, your most humble slave here begs you, please condescend to this place and save your slave!" Before being pressed to travel to the location of the sacrifice, Guplu couldn't help but pray unceasingly in his heart under the effect of fear.
Guplu, along with the other creatures that the Sahuagin captured were herded to a circular altar near the sea. In addition to Kobolds like Guplu, there were some Gnolls, Goblins, and even a few Humans.
The Sahuagin priestess lit the fires located on either side of the altar and moved a dark stone statue to be erected in the centre of the altar. She surrounded the altar and sang and danced in an eerie manner. Her voice was dry and astringent as if her vocal cords had been soaked in hydrochloride acid. As the ceremony progressed, the shadow of fear appeared in the hearts of each of the sacrifices, eating away at them little by little.
The weakest Goblins were the first to fail. They were so scared that they clutched their heads and started to howl miserably, frantically trying to break free from the chains on their bodies, but they were slashed open by the Sahuagin guards who stood guard, then with a few deft picks, their beating hearts were thrown onto the altar.
Along with the death of the Goblin, the atmosphere around them became more and more depressing, and it seemed that something unseen began to appear. The weather also gradually became gloomy, the wind whistled, and the Sahuagin who had been onlookers at this time had already knelt down and lowered their heads.
At this time, the voice of the Sahuagin Priestess was also becoming more and more maniacal, her hunched body making one action after another that seemed downright impossible, making people not only wonder if she would break her own waist: "...Sekolah... descending ...begging ......"
One by one, the creatures on the altar began to fall into a fearful confusion and were soon having their hearts picked out of their chests one by one by the Sahuagin guards armed with spiked knives.
Guplu was considered to be able to hold out among these creatures. However, as those around him died one by one, he too finally couldn't hold on any longer, drooping his head miserably and crying out at the top of his lungs, "Doglu...!"
Fear had filled his brain, and he had seen the bloodthirsty grin at the corner of the mouth of the Sahuagin guard beside him, the still-dripping spiked blade raised to s***h down in the next moment.
Suddenly, a loud and clear dragon roar rang out, instantly overpowering the hoarse chanting of the Sahuagin Priestess - the Frightful Presence pressed down unchecked on everyone who was in the area. A blurry figure approached from afar, rapidly flying closer. As it got closer, the figure grew larger and larger. Until when he flew closer, his shadow even covered the entire altar.
The Sahuagin Priestess's chant was undoubtedly stuck. Before she could make a move, the dragon's might had already followed, and then in front of her eyes, there was a pink dragon that appeared to be glittering in the sunlight. Fire Breath sprayed down, and Sahuagin Priestess instantly changed face, an aquamarine blue light screen instantly protected the body, but only lasted less than a second will being broken. However, the Sahuagin Priestess within the light screen had already disappeared, leaving only the light of the spell flickering in place.
As early as the moment Godzilla appeared, many kneeling Sahuagins were about to get up, but when they tried to get up they were pressed by the Frightful Presence and immediately knelt down again. In this way, Godzilla came to the Sahuagin Priestess as if he were in no one's land.
The Sahuagin guards who were preparing for the execution on the altar were naturally overwhelmed by Frightful Presence, and their burly figures instantly fell to their knees, and the position at which the spikes were aimed naturally changed. Guplu had also been captured by Frightful Presence, but being bound to the rack made it impossible for him to kneel down. The deadly spiked knife deviated from its position, but it still injured him.
