Chapter 2 Off the Screen

1450 Words
Godzilla's eyes filled with complexity, he recalled the dragon conversation he had heard while still in the egg. "Kedrin, I know that wasn't your intention! As long as these eggs don't hatch, then no one will ever know that you were ever being ..." "Stop it, Athlas! You know I couldn't be with you even if this hadn't happened!" "Really? Then why didn't you stop me when I used the Blood Dissolving Touch? Don't pretend, Kedrin! You don't want to see them appear either, do you?" The silver dragon Kedrin fell silent. Leon was right, if she tried to block it then there was no chance for him to succeed. Although this was the first clutch of dragon eggs she had laid, the process was not what she had hoped for. She looked at the eggs that seemed to be trembling slightly, chose to ignore them and quickly flew away from the nest. "Damn you Haudroz! I will definitely rip off your head!"The metal dragon named Athlas muttered hatefully, then flew away from the cavern. Godzilla's face was filled with annoyance, the state of affairs was already obvious - he was a hybrid of a red and silver dragon. Whereas his parents were not on friendly terms with each other. He was an unblessed child born under compulsion. He wouldn't hold too much of a grudge against Kedrin, she was his birth mother after all. As for the dragon named Athlas, Godzilla would have to make him pay sooner or later! Perhaps it was because the metamorphosis had consumed too much of his energy, some of the remaining eggshells did not satisfy Liam's stomach. He couldn't help but look at his "brothers" who weren't as lucky as he was. Although he was once a human being, after experiencing the effects of death and dragons, his perspective on some things had completely changed. Compared to the teeth of a baby dragon, the shells of the eggs were not much harder than a crispy cracker, after swallowing the remaining three eggs, Godzilla finally felt full. On the first day after birth, a fledgling dragon would usually have a short dormancy period, it's for better adapt to the stress brought about by the dragon's inheritance. Godzilla, on the other hand, because he possessed both dragon heritages, his slumber came even faster than the average fledgling - almost as soon as he had a full stomach, he felt a raging drowsiness come over him. But this was not a good time to slumber - the cave was just too obvious. After losing the intimidation of the dragon, it was likely that other animals would come here. When that happens, the sleeping Godzilla will be a beautiful plate of food. Not to mention that the dragon named Athlas didn't know if he would come over to check. Thinking of this, Godzilla braced himself for sleepiness and left the cave. After walking out a few hundred meters, he found a hidden rocky crevice and went straight in to fall into a deep sleep. A fledgling dragon was roughly the size of a foal when it was first born, and Godzilla was already more than one size larger than the average fledgling dragon after a night's slumber due to his intake of too much nutrition. "Well! As a fledgling dragon, I'm so miserable. Not only did I lose my mother dragon, but I almost died in the egg." After resting for the night, Godzilla's spirit was much better, and those inherited memories also filled his mind - A young dragon without the shelter of a mother is miserable in the outside world, let alone a fledgling. Metallic dragons were much more responsible than chromatic dragons, and it was usually rare for someone to target a young metallic dragon. However, Godzilla looked at himself and didn't look like any kind of metallic dragon by any stretch of the imagination. Not to mention the metallic dragon, even the chromatic dragon was very different from him. "What kind of sin did I commit in my last life!" After seeing his appearance through a small lake, Godzilla let out a feeble shout. The large, square head had several short horns growing diagonally upwards above it, with fine coral-like spines stretching from the top of the head to the tip of the tail. The scales on his body were not stacked one on top of the other like ordinary dragons but folded together in layers, and Godzilla's body size was too strong compared to a baby dragon with a big head and a small belly. The thick and long hind limbs are enough to support the body up to walk on two feet, and the strong front limbs are so flexible that they are even able to scratch the back, but the neck is much shorter than the average giant dragon. Compared to his overly strong body, his wings were a bit stunted - but a look at the thick muscle fibers at the base of the wings and the hooked claws at the end that glistened with metal showed that it wasn't his weak point. If that's all it is, there's no doubt it's a formidable and hideous look. However, if it was paired with the sakura-pink colour of the scales, then everything would be not so normal again. "How did a gargoyle hybrid turn the colour of my scales like this ...?" Godzilla was in tears, he had a feeling that either the red of the red dragon or the silver-white of the silver dragon would be much better than this - or really, black or gray like Godzilla would be fine. A tawdry pink hideous dragon, Godzilla puts Io to shame just thinking about it. I'm afraid that even if he searched the entire history of the dragon race, he wouldn't be able to find a second one with the same colour of scales. However, even though the colour was gorgeous, the defence was much stronger than that of a normal fledgling dragon, which was perhaps the only thing worth rejoicing about. Godzilla quickly accepted this fact, and since he was powerless to resist, he tried to enjoy it. However, the immediate priority is to find a good hiding place. The cave where he hatched before could not be stayed - who knew if Kedrin, the silver dragon, or Athlas, who was an unknown species of metallic dragon, would back here again. If they found him, who knew what would happen? To avoid such a situation, Godzilla had to endure the pain of giving up such a good shelter. However, he didn't dare to act during the daytime. Although he felt that he was already much stronger than the average fledgling dragon, existences stronger than fledglings abounded. Not to mention that he wasn't able to fly like an ordinary fledgling dragon. Yes! He couldn't fly! Though he had wings all the same, they couldn't support his oversized size anyway. This was an epiphany he gained when he leapt off a cliff to learn how to fly and tested the defence of his scale amour in the process. Although it was instinctive for dragons to use magic to aid in flight, The little bit of magic that the fledgling dragon had wouldn't do much for Godzilla at all. At night, Godzilla's cherry-pink scales became a protective colour - compared to other colors, this colour reflected light very weakly. This also greatly facilitated Godzilla's movement. Overnight, Godzilla took small steps and managed to stay away from the dragon's nest...10 kilometers! He was also helpless, there was no way to fly, and he also had to dodge a large group of beasts that were not to be messed with - it was good to run 10 kilometers. It was almost dawn and Godzilla hadn't found a hiding place yet. He was a bit anxious, he didn't know if any intelligent creatures were existing in the neighbourhood. But no matter which type of intelligent creatures, they were extremely dangerous to Godzilla - even a dragon's slave-like Kobolds could hardly guarantee that they wouldn't have any bad thoughts when they came across a fledgling dragon like him! Perhaps it was luck that favoured him, as Godzilla found a small river at the crack of dawn. Although the red dragons hated water, they were not incapable of swimming, not to mention that Godzilla was a good swimmer who lived in the water - he could even stay in the water all the time without needing to change his breath, which was similar to some aquatic dragons. The water was Godzilla's home turf, and there was no fear of powerful intelligent creatures in this shallow stream.
