Nick's POV
****************
What's taking her so long to get here, she's always on time plus we need to get this project done immediately. I can't deal with another lecture from Mr. Jones besides this will contribute to going off to collage. Maybe I should call her to found out if everything's alright, taking my phone from my pocket I see her coming through the library doors. "Where have you been young lady? I have been waiting for you like two hours now!" I said trying to give her a serious look which seemed impossible when it comes to her.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry I lost track of time walking and chatting with Delan" she said placing her bag pack on the table taking a seat next to me before giving me a hug. "Delan? my friend Delan?" I asked her a bit confused, Delan is never early or on time when it comes to school unless he had something important to deal with and not to mention chatting with a girl unless he wanted something from her. "Where is he?."
"Yes dumbass your friend Delan, I don't know where he is, I left him at the school's entrance. Why so surprised?" she asked giving me a curious look. "Oh nothing, he's just never early unless he had something important to do...anyways lets get to work" I told her waving a hand in the air watching as she nods her head in agreement.
We finished our project a few minutes before class which I'm grateful for, I'll get to catch up with the guys before class. I love spending time with Chrissy but she likes to bury her head in books, she's not really good at conversations but she's feisty once you get to know her and fun to be around. We met on her third day of school here, she was standing by her locker when I was passing by, I couldn't help staring at her and the next thing I know there was a big thump and I'm on the ground. She rushed to my side to see if I was alright and out of all the things in this world to say, I just had to say one of the dumbest things "your eyes are so big" only the dumbest person would say something like that to a girl, I quickly added "and beautiful" but she just laughed saying "and your eyes are beautiful too but too bad they can't see properly."
I got up then introduced myself "Hi, I'm Nick" holding out my hand gesturing for a hand shake. "I am Chrissy, nice to meet you" she said shaking my hand. I knew she was new because I known all the girls here so I offered to show her around which surprised her a bit and me too of course, I'm never friendly with girl unless I wanted go get them in my bed, yeah am that type of guy sorry to burst your bubble besides they jump at me and I only refuse what I don't want so don't judge me. Her response was "If this is a little bet or some trick you and your friends are doing your messing with the wrong girl, I'll punch you where it hurts the most" she said giving me a serious glare. I laughed walking away then yelled "don't judge a book by its cover cutie, see you at lunch." I didn't turn to look at her but I could tell she rolled her eyes at me.
"Hey man, what's up?" one of the guys greeted me as I made my way over to them. "Yo, just thought I'd catch up with guys before class you know" I said giving them each a bro hug. There's four of us, Jackson, Sammy, Delan and me. We're always together, mostly referred to as "the four jacks" I guess it's because of our looks plus the teachers calls us "the pretty boys" so there you have your answer. "Hey man, where's Chrissy? I haven't seen her since we got here." I hear Delan say catching my attention and the memory of Chrissy telling me they came here together resurfaced in my mind. "She's probably at class already, you know her she prefers to bury her head in books than socialize." I said studying his face trying to find what he was thinking. I have noticed a few times that he would stare at her but never letting her see or even get the chance to notice. I don't know why but the thought of it makes me jealous, what the hell am I thinking...why would I be jealous of my friends? maybe it's just a big brother instinct...it has to be, right?. "Oh yeah, right." he said pulling me out of my thoughts.
"So, what's the plan for tonight boys?" Jackson asked with a smirk on his face. "Well...I was thinking we could hang out at my place, invite a couple girls if you wanna" I said. "Now that's what I'm talking about" Sammy said grinning, showing off his pearly whites. The bell rang giving us the signal that it's time to for class, we all went our separate ways except for Delan and I, we had the same classes and so does Chrissy. As I enter the class room I see Chrissy sitting in her usual spot in a corner at the back, her head was buried in a book as usual.
"Chrissy" I called out to her but she didn't seem to hear me, I walked to my seat next to hers tapping on her shoulder as I sit down. "Oh hey what's up?" she slowly looked up from her book pulling her earphones from her ears. "Now I see why you didn't hear me" I said giving her a scowling look which she rolled her eyes at me smiling. "The guys and I are gonna hang out at my place later...wanna join?" I asked her expecting her usual answer which was always no or I have plans sorry but to my surprise she said yes. "Your coming? Really?!" I said unable to hide the excitement in my voice. "Yes just pick me up" she said giggling at my reaction. "Well...since Delan lives next door to you just let him take you instead of having me drive all the way there, if that's ok with you..." I said watching as her eyes made it's way to Delan at the mention of his name. "Alright then" she said putting her phone away as the teacher enters the classroom. "Alright" I said in a playful tone.
