Chapter 12Addie sat in the rocking chair beside the fire, her knitting needles flying. While Beth could construct the most intricate quilts, all the cutting and stitching drove Addie to distraction. When she wanted to busy her fingers with a task and free her mind, yarn called to her. She'd bought the white skein and a mint green one and was candy striping a blanket. The tiny size of the piece—just long enough to wrap an infant in—warmed her even as it frightened her. No regrets. Everything is going to be fine. I have to believe that.
