Silence fills the air between us, before Darien starts laughing.
A frown mars my face. What is so funny?
But he doesn't seem to be able to read my thoughts, because he only continues laughing hard, clutching his sides like he's gasping for breath.
"Are you really asking me that? Do you not know if the omega is your mate or not? Oh my goddesses!"
I pull out my sword and point it at him. "If you have nothing of importance to tell me, then step aside. I need to find Aria."
He stops laughing then, something like fire burning in his eyes, bright and hot.
Any other person would probably shrink under the velocity his gaze, but I'm not just anyone.
I stand my ground and glare right back at me, but just like I expect, he also doesn't flinch.
