Grayson Storm sprinted through the streets of Nexus City, ignoring the curious stares of pedestrians and the blaring sirens of emergency vehicles racing in the opposite direction.
Every instinct screamed at him to keep moving.
The silver pillar of light rising above the industrial district seemed to pulse like a heartbeat.
His heartbeat.
The closer he got, the stronger the sensation became.
It was as though an invisible thread connected him to whatever had fallen from the sky.
"This is insane," Grayson muttered.
Yet he didn't slow down.

He took a deep breath.
