"It's so nice to see you, Charlie. I've missed you, my love." Jade said, smiling at Charlie.
He glared at her and was going to step forward when mom grabbed his hand.
"Mom?" Mateo whispered, staring at the middle-aged woman.
"No! You're not my mother." He said, shaking his head.
It was true though. The woman who was probably in her late thirties was our biological mother. Jade Mahoney no longer Jade Mahoney Rose. Now though, she looked pale and almost sickly. Not like before when she dressed to impress and had the softest complexion.
She stepped closer and I stumbled back not wanting to even breathe the same air as her. Luca caught me as I began to tremble.
"I'm here, baby. Just calm down." He whispered into my ear in a soothing voice.
"You don't belong here, Jade." Aunt Viv stated
