My famous mate.

Prologue.

The night was cold and the moon was shining brightly, along with her friends the stars. The loud music surrounding the area, was a muffle sound to my ears.... Opening my eyes I saw the gigantic stage, full of lights reflectors, QLED screens, enormus peakers and to the left side a wide silver stair heading to the stage. The stadium was full of people, their screams and cheers could be heard all around, the stucture was wide and it seems that had an oval shape, the futball field was conditioned to be separated in three areas: ground, area designed for those who couldn't pay for VIP tickets, The VIP area, was on the front of the stage and the Special guests area, was divided in the two sides of the stage, left and right respectively. 

The cold breeze caressed my face while I took a deep breath to calm down... "Why does this always happen to me"? I thought, I stood up from one of the benches positioned backstage. The euphoric sound of the people filled the stadium and even though it wasn't my set, I could feel the energy! It was normal for me to feel nervous before going on stage, mom always said: "The one who doesn't feel nervous before going on stage, is not a true artist", and it's true, that constant tingling in my stomach and the adrenaline rush, are the things that motivate me the most to do this kind of work.

I heard in the distance when my touring partner, Dj Kleb was saying goodbye to the crowd - Thank you so much for having me tonight Evergreen, you guys are the best! - he shouted at the top of his lungs, super animated and full of energy as the crowd chanted his name - Dj Kleb, Dj Kleb, Dj Kleb! - it was magical.... The best feeling in the world is to feel the energy and love of your audience, as they are the ones who put you on top, and they are the ones who our music inspires and excites. I watched as Kleb stepped off the stage and everything went black, as the stage lights and screens went out, the euphoric screams of the fans could be heard and I was getting more nervous every second that passed, "well, breathing and triy to relax, didn't work", I thought to myself frustrated, as I let out a sigh - Hey! Don't worry beautiful, you'll do fine - said Kleb encouragingly, while he put his hand on my shoulder and gave me a smile - I know - I replied, while taking a deep breath - You know I can't help feeling nervous before every set - I told him, while I turned around and smiled at him in the same way - You know very well that you are one of the best djs in the world Katra, you got that title with hard work and dedication, you are the most passionate person I know and that passion is what will help you to break tonight's presentation - said Kleb in motivational speech mode and just when the automated system started the introduction for my set, he hugged me - Get up there and give it hard! As only you know how to do - he finally said, while kissing my forehead. 

At that moment I could feel that someone  behind us was watching us, but I didn't give it any importance and when the robotic voice started the countdown for my entrance, I went up on stage.

- Hello, hello, hello Evergreen! - I shouted euphorically, as the screens behind me lit up with blue lights and swirls of white stardust - Are you ready for your dose of house music? - I shouted animatedly, as the excited crowd responded - Yes - I am Dj Katra and welcome to the astral plane! - I finished my entrance and my name, along with my dj logo, appeared on the giant QLED screens behind me; and I began to manipulate the decks.

People were screaming, jumping and dancing to the rhythm of the house music, I could see how girls were wearing masks similar to mine, wigs of vibrant colors, lots of glitter, elaborated makeups and multicolored flags. The boys on the other hand, some were wearing neutral colors, but with LED necklaces and multicolored lanterns, I felt  huge joy to see all that. To tell the truth, I adored how young and old loved the fantasy and magic behind my outfit, I always wore a navy blue cat mask, with glittery details, simulating the stars and on the right ear of the mask, rested a silver crescent moon, with a bouquet of blue and white roses, from which came out a semi translucent sky blue veil that connected with the ends of the mask, this covered my long scarlet hair.

My top was navy blue like the mask, with sparkly details, with a heart-shaped neckline and silver brocades; this neckline showed how graceful I was in the chest area, which I loved; also, I wore leather pants of the same color as the top and black high boots with silver buckles. It was always the same outfit, I only varied the colors according to the theme or the country I was visiting and this time, the theme was full moon night and that's why the colors.

I continued playing with the same energy as I started, I asked the people to clap, to shout, to jump... wow!, they were really energetic! I gradually degraded the volume as the song was ending, I was halfway through the set and I needed to rest, so I decided to put a trance, one of my singles, "son of the moon" started to play and the euphoric people began to howl, they looked like a pack of wolves, singing and howling to the sound of my melodies ....

I stood up on the table and the spotlights changed to a dim blue light, focusing only on me, the people started to become silent, as I brought the microphone to my red lips - Thank you very much Evergreen for allowing me to be here with you tonight - I said with a soft and melodic voice, while the audience raised their hands and shouted - It is an honor for me, to be able to share with you this wonderful time tonight - I continued while in the distance, near the stage was heard - Katra I love you! - As I lowered my gaze, and I saw  a guy in the VIP area with a big sign that read: "Katra, marry me", I could not help but smile and tell him - I love you too, and all of you! - the screams were not long in coming and applause filled the stadium - this is the night, where the children of the moon rise and dance, to the sound of the melodies and ancestral songs, of our mother .... Selene - as I said these words, a light breeze moved acrcross the field, caressing my skin, making my hair wave in the wind, together with the veil tied to my mask... I looked like the goddess Selene herself at that moment... it was... magical...

Almost all the Evergreen people were here, including the vast majority of the pack, who would have thought that the fabulous Dj Katra would agree to come to this piece of land hidden among the mountains of Maldovia, I guess being the CEO of Knight Enterprise had something to do with it. Our company was the leading in technological innovation and cybersecurity  in all of Europe, who would dare refuse a contract with us?

I was sitting in the Special Guests area of the stadium, sipping some of my vodka on the rocks while watching my sister and my best friend dance, at that moment she notices me watching them and runs to me - thanks for this brother - Amy said euphoric - it's the best birthday present ever - she continued, while hugging me - everything to see you happy little sister - I told her while hugging me - Actually, you are very generous Xavier, do you know how much  Dj Katra contract costs? - exclaimed Dante, my beta and best friend in disbelief - yes, I know, half a million dollars, just for a one and a half hour set - I said while I took a sip of my vodka - I paid for it remember? You were there - I said a little bored - let's  dance brother! - Amy exclaimed enthusiastically - you haven't moved from there all night, come on! - she insisted, pulling me by the arm - you know I don't like EDM, that's not music, that's noise - I said in a serious tone - come on, please, for me... - begged my little sister with hurt puppy eyes - how can I say no to those eyes - I said sighing in defeat, while I left the drink on the table and headed to the improvised dance floor with her and Dante.

As I got there, I felt the cool night breeze caress my face, bringing to me a delicious scent of sandalwood, vanilla, roses and sweet cloves. I let go of Amy's hand, who looked at me strangely, as I lifted my nose and inhaled that intoxicating aroma - don't you smell it? - I asked looking at my sister who also looked at me a little strange - smell what? - she replied, while she crossed her arms - that intoxicating aroma... it's... delicious - I replied, while I closed my eyes and let myself be carried away by such a pleasant fragrance - wait! where are you going? - asked Amy a little worried and annoyed - let him, don't worry, you know nothing will happen to him, maybe he smelled his mate - said Dante hopeful - You think so? - Amy asked somewhat incredulous - I hope so, the poor guy has been looking for her for ten years now, and he still can't find her - said Dante, while he took a sip of his root beer, as they watch me leave the special guest's area.

I walked through the crowd, following that intoxicating smell, I realized that I was coming from the VIP area of the stadium, I approached the security, a tall man, around 5'11 inches, dark skinned, bald. He wasn't  taller than me though, since I am 6'2, the man was wearing a black t-shirt, with the word "staff" on the back and blue worn jeans with black combat boots, I showed him my special guest wristband and he let me pass. 

Once I'm  in the VIP area, I started walking through the crowd again, until I came across the railing that divides  the VIP area from the stage, and that's where I saw her... Like a goddess in all her splendor, up on the table, clapping and cheering the audience, there was my other half, my soul mate...my mate. Our gazes crossed, under that mask, I could see her beautiful aqua blue eyes, as deep as the ocean and as infinite as the universe... She smiled slightly, while she blew me a kiss, or at least I thought so, when I turned around and saw a group of guys congratulating the friend who received the kiss from my goddess... "MINE! " I thought to myself, while clenching my fists, I had to control myself, not only the members of the pack were here, but almost every human in town as well... I couldn't believe it, Dj Katra, one of the most famous djs in the world, was my mate....
