Chapter # 23

2200 Words
Alphonse sighed deeply when she walked away, well aware of the fact that words can no longer fix anything, things have gotten worse. In fact, nothing can so he had to accept the hole of their relationship and give into his longings regardless. With a frown, Aurelia walked and saw her parents leaving for the farmhouse. “Aurelia?” Mr Blue called, noticing the grimace on her face along with the infuriated aura. “Are you guys leaving?” She asked, calmly, coming closer and folding her arms. “Yeah, we are going to the farmhouse.” He nodded with a feeble smile. He was worried sick about his daughter but it’s not like they have better options. They have to accept it. “I see. Take care.” SHe hummed, hugging them tightly, bidding them goodbye. “You too.” They hummed, kissed her head and left. After they left, her heart began to race after knowing she had to spend each second in this place with Alphonse, all alone with no one by her side. “Oh my God.” She breathed out, leaning on the wall, hugging herself. “What happened, Madam?” Linda asked, perplexed at her abrupt reflex. She gulped, pressing her hand on her chest to control her heartbeats but failed. She had to confront him with no support beside her. “Madam?” She called again but shaking her head, she forced herself to stand. She needs to grasp her cognition and mind before her next step or else this would be fatal for her. “Nothing.” She mumbled. Inhaling sharply after making her mind to use the privilege she had forcefully clasped to its utmost extent and went to their room. “Alphonse.” She called coldly. He was sitting on the bed, leaned back on the bed frame, leg crossed, using his phone. “Hmm? Did your parents leave?” He asked, without looking up. “Yes. But I want something else.” She said in a devoid tone, folding her arms. “Hmm?” He hummed again. “Give me your debit card. I want to go out shopping, I will become insane if I stay here any longer.” She scoffed, demanding without any intention of hearing ‘no’ He paused, turning his head, arching one eyebrow perfectly at her in bafflement. She gave him a heartless look, moving her hand out, gesturing to him to give it to her. “Why don’t you say it clearly?” He asked as ire collected between his eyes he grabbed his wallet from the nightstand and took out hiss card. “Being alone in this place with me is repulsive to you.” He hissed, slamming the card on her palm. The idea she wanted to go out as soon as her parents left was clear how much she detested his presence. “Exactly.” She smirked, taking the card, pissing him off. He scoffed and pulled his hand back. “I want a phone too.” She spoke up again. “I don’t trust you.” He replied instantly. “How do you expect me to talk to my family or friends? I have work as well.” She shrugged, giving him a pretty obvious reason for having one. “You can go and meet them wherever you want with my permission.” He replied nonchalantly, resting his hand in his pockets, smirking at her. “And you had a job.” He whispered, wallowing in the display of astonishment. “What do you mean? Do you have any idea how hard I worked for that position?” She argued, not believing he ripped her from her job, utterly trapping her here. “I could use my power to give it back only.” His smirk grew wider, leaning down to her level. “If you behave well.” He hummed, poking her forehead before taking a step back. “Tsk.” She scoffed and went to the closest to get ready to leave. “Wait.” He called, stopping her. “Now what?” She asked. “You are not going alone, I am coming along.” He said mischievously, a scowl appeared on her face. She did this to run away from him and he refused to leave her side to etch her reality that her life is bound to him. “Fine!” She growled, stomping her foot on the ground, taking out a random dress and going to the bathroom to get ready. He shrugged and changed his trousers into jeans, not bothering to change his shirt. He was sitting on the bed, staring at her getting ready. Ignoring her presence, she wore an off-shoulder, black knee-length frock and let her hair open and was about to apply a red lipstick. “It won’t suit, try pink or something else.” He remarked, checking her form out. She glared at him from the corner of her eyes and put it down, making ombre lips, getting ready as he watched her with a darkly exquisite look. Her heart began to thump against her chest, her hands began to tremble, she couldn’t do her makeup and decided to leave as it was impossible under his sharp stare. “Let’s go.” She sighed, taking her bag. “Are you done? You didn’t use any base.” He asked, noticing she only used blush and lipstick with a simple eyeliner. “Yes.” She breathed out. “Well, you do have flawless skin.” He mumbled, shrugging his shoulders as they left for her day out for shopping. Alphonse was not the type of person who sits back and let his woman do the shopping so he actually took part in this. To engrave this memory as the first ‘normal’ moment he could share with her, indulging in it to the core. “This color won’t suit you, try a brighter one.” He said when she held a brown dress. “This one?” She asked. Her voice was still cold but she was invested in the opinions to know what suits her better. “It’s a bit off. Try a blue one.” He hummed, checking the dress. “This?” She asked again, turning around after trying out the dress. “Yeah, it suits you well.” He nodded, eyes scrutinizing her form with mesmerization. “Why don’t you try some baggy shirts? They will also look great.” He suggested. She narrowed her eyes and thought about his recommendation and compiled. “You know what, Alphonse?” She said, forcing the words to reach her lips. “Hmm?” He hummed, not removing his eyes from hers. “I don’t regret bringing you along.” She said, voice not holding any emotion but her words convey what she has to tell. “Nobody helped me this much before.” She sighed as Elliot always used to say ‘everything is good’ so she couldn’t get an idea. “Glad to know.” He whispered. Showing her a faint smile, drowning in her eyes increasing his heart rates. Urging time to stop this moment and live there, in this nonchalance. She bought a whole stack of clothes, she did this to infuriate him but he was truly enjoying this time with her, sharing perspective about looks and all. “You wanted to come, then hold them.” She smirked, pointing at the ten bags at the counter. “Hold it, Louis.” He said, turning to him. Yeah, they brought him and other guards along for security. “I?” Louis asked, taken aback. “Did I stutter?” Alphonse asked in a warning tone. “No, Boss.” He shook his head, the guards grabbed the bag as they continued their shopping. They spent a few hours and walked out of the bag store as his eyes fell upon the weird numbers on the bill. They bought five bags but they were ridiculous. “This bag cost that much?” He asked, narrowing his eyes, thinking he saw the price wrong. “They are branded. You should know, you gave it to me as well.” She replied monotonously, turning to him. “I saw its price for the first time.” He replied honestly, shrugging his shoulders and putting the bill in his pocket. “Then stop being stingy.” She mocked, curling her lips downwards. “I am not.” He muttered as they continued. When they walked, his eyes got lost in the shine in her eyes, the gleam he was dying to espy was before him finally. If that’s what makes her happy then he was willing to do this, no matter how unfavorable it is for him, no matter how much he hates it. But, if she wants it, then he will place all luxury beneath her feet. “What do you think of this one?” She asked, showing him the shoes she was trying. She intended to do this to enrage him, to show him she is a gold-digger but none of them knows when they sank into the moment. “If you are matching with the white dress then it doesn’t match, try a more fancy one.” He mumbled. “Could you find one?” She asked, tired from the shopping. She was exhausted but he was fresh, cool about everything. “Sure.” He hummed, looking around the store to find the perfect shoe for her dress. He walked around until a voice called him. “Alphonse?” Hearing the unwanted but familiar voice, he turned only to find his ex there. “Nancy?” He asked, not expecting her presence here. “Fancy seeing you here, What are you doing?” She smirked, coming closer. “Can’t you guess?” He replied coldly, giving the shoes more attention than her. “Shopping with your wife? Ah, who would have thought you would marry this secretly?” She breathed out, blocking his way, smirking to see his reaction but he showed none. “I had my personal preference.” He replied, motioning her to move out of the way. “Hold it, I am done- Who are you?” Aurelia came, giving him the shopping bag but stopped after noticing Nancy. “I am his business partner, Nancy Dale. Nice to meet you.” She said sweetly, shaking hands with Aurelia who only made a weird face. “She is my wife Aurelia Blue- Jude.” Alphonse introduced, holding her shoulder, pulling her closer to feel her warmth. “Hey.” Aurelia forced a smile, holding the need to push him away inside. “You sure are indulging in your married life. I don’t remember you taking me out ever.” She taunted, glaring at Aurelia who showed no reaction. Heck, she didn’t even hear what she said. “Are you done?” Aurelia asked, ignoring her words, turning her head to her husband, holding her firmly. “Yes.” He nodded. “Then pay the bill for these.” She said coldly, removing his hand and walking back, leaving him alone with her. “Yeah.” He sighed, she clearly had no interest. “Never fathomed I would see you like this.” Nancy smirked, taking a step closer. “You’re so hypocritical, Alphonse. You left me because I was like this.” Snickering, her smirk left her lips pissed at him for doing what he detest for Aurelia’s sake. “I have my exceptions.” He replied calmly, resting his hand in his pocket. It was obvious that she is his exception, the peak of his faze for whom he could razed this world for. “Alphonse!” Aurelia called, sighing at his display. “Coming.” He replied before returning Nancy a glare. “And don’t interfere in my personal life again, Nancy.” He hissed in a whisper, scaring her by his rage before walking to Aurelia. She gestured to him to do it as he paid the bill and they walked out. They were walking, wallowing in the silence dispersed in the sky but Alphonse told her. “She was my ex too.” He said, glancing at her from the corner of his eyes to see her reaction. “I don’t care nor ask.” She muttered, rubbing her shoulders, walking down after extremely tired from the constant shopping which left no impact. On the contrary, it created a friendly moment between them she could averse to remembering. “I am hungry, let’s grab something and go back.” She groaned. Ignoring the look she gained when everyone noticed her bodyguards holding almost thirty shopping bags and Louis utterly disappeared, sleeping in the waiting area. “Are you done? It’s only four hours.” Alphonse asked, hiding the mock in his voice. “Do you want me to continue?” She asked, growling at him. “No.” He shook his head. “Then come.” She scoffed. They finally left after a tiresome day out which either marked an unforeseen start… but with a layer underneath?
