24 Jett I’m hiking uphill at full steam, a dozen yards ahead of Mason and Alex. There’s nothing to focus on but my breathing and the trees on either side of the trail, and I kind of like it that way. It’s peaceful here, just the dark brown and vivid green of the foliage, the dark brown clay underfoot as I climb. If I go hard enough, I can’t think about Cady. So that’s nice, I guess.
