Prologue

The breeze was playful today as it rushed past her long black hair, tangling it in its wake. Her pure amber eyes gazed at the moon reflected in the lake and her lips puckered at the beautiful scene. However she didn't realize that her every action, the way she tucked her hair behind her ear, how she tilted her head in thought and how her legs dangled from the dock half submerged in the water enthralled the man who was sitting beside her. She looked ethereal, untouchable even. He sat there with a hand beneath his chin, staring at her soft red lips with such longing, imagining all the obscene ways in which he could defile them as she moaned his name. His blue eyes shone with his desire to push her beneath him and make her his. He loved her so much that his emotions began to overflow and the line between what was right and what was wrong became murkier and murkier. He could have her if he wanted, disrobe her right there and then slowly taste her pale unblemished skin with his tongue only to completely devour her and make raw love under the scenic blue light of the moon. But he loved her too much. In fact he loved her so much that he couldn't bear to hurt her. No matter how murky the line became, he knew if there was one thing he wished to protect; it was her childlike laughter, that innocent happiness that came from the bottom of her heart. He loved her most when she was happy. He knew it would break her heart if she realized what was going through his mind because although she loved him too, her love for him was far different from the love he held for her. In her eyes he would always be her brother. Someone she had to take care of, at all times. And when she turned around to meet his clear blue eyes, she smiled gently and he knew at that moment that the dark emotions that had taken root within his heart, his desire to monopolize her and twist her thoughts into revolving around him alone were only going to keep growing. He was afraid of what she would think of him when she saw the beast lurking beneath his skin. Would she try to tame it? Or would she run away? Well in that case, I'll just have to chain her to me until all thoughts of escaping me are replaced by just thoughts of me and me alone.
