Taurian crept through Dena's house using his Renjerian night vision that highlighted everything he could see. He didn't want to alert the Tryn to his presence. Though the sulfur stench wasn't as concentrated inside, which meant it might already be gone. And that meant either she was lying dead with a pool of blood around her or the worst: it had taken her. His stomach roiled at the thought of either of those scenarios.
