A happy and excited Jessica went up the stairs dancing and burst through Ashley’s door, startling her. Ashley was sitting at the edge of the bed, trying to remove an old pain patch from her shoulder blades before putting on a new one.
Jessica looked at her in exasperation, forgetting her excitement from minutes before, and marched towards her, shaking her head. She took the patch from her friend’s hand and put it on the bed. Very carefully, she peeled back the edge of the patch with her fingers and gently pulled it. She folded the patch in half and threw it in the bin. She went to the bath to get a hand towel and a tumbler with some warm water in it. She dipped one end of the towel in the warm water and cleaned the area with it, and then patted it dry before removing the protective liner
