River's POV:
I carried Mari to the packhouse and up the stairs to my room, where I knew no one would interrupt us. I shut the door and placed her feet on the ground. Before she could ask, I pressed her back against the door and gave her a real kiss. I took hold of her hips, and so I felt as a shudder went down her back. Goddess, this woman tempted me so much. If I didn't have things to do, I would have easily begged her to let me feel her body against me again.
I reached up and twisted my fingers in her curls and I licked her bottom lip. She granted me access to her full mouth and I groaned softly. The things I would do to her if she let me.
