Marisol's POV:
Once River left, I took a minute to calm my cheeks and then went downstairs. When I made it to the clinic door, I knocked before I opened it. Maddie lifted her eyebrows at me.
"You are knocking?"
"Just in case," I said, and she shrugged.
"Come and sit here." She pointed to a chair next to the bed in the room. I frowned softly, but I walked over and sat down. "Shut your eyes and focus on your wolf." She said as she reached out and put her hand over my heart. I shut my eyes and tried to focus on that feeling in my gut that River said was my inner wolf. It felt dull and distant. I knew that wasn't right though. River seemed to react so strongly from it.
