THE LADY ASSASSIN
Nobody knew her real name.
To the world, she was nothing more than a rumor.
A shadow.
A ghost.
A woman who appeared when someone was about to lose everything.
But in the underground world, everyone knew her by one terrifying name—
THE LIGHTNING GHOST.
They said she could move faster than the human eye could follow.
They said she could disappear in the middle of a crowded room.
They said she had never failed a mission.
They were all right.
Her real name was Avira Moore.
She was twenty-four years old.
Beautiful, intelligent, and dangerously calm.
But behind her cold eyes was a secret nobody knew.
Avira hadn't become an assassin because she wanted power.
She became one because she wanted answers.
Ten years ago, her family disappeared.
Her mother.
Her father.
Everyone she loved.
All that remained was a strange symbol burned into her memory—
a black rose surrounded by a broken crown.
Avira spent ten years searching for the people responsible.
She trained until her body became faster than lightning.
She learned to fight.
She learned to survive.
And most importantly—
she learned never to trust anyone.
Until one night…
she met Jasper Carter.
The billionaire known in the underground world as—
THE BLACK WOLF.
He was the only man who wasn't afraid of her.
The only man who could keep up with her.
And the only man who knew the secret she had spent ten years protecting.
Her real name.
«“Avira Moore…”»
The moment Jasper said it, she knew.
Her life was about to change.
Because Jasper didn't want to kill her.
He wanted to make a deal.
A deal that would lead them straight to the people who destroyed both their families.
But there was one problem.
Neither Avira nor Jasper knew that someone was already watching them.
Someone who had been waiting ten years for the Lightning Ghost to come home.

CHAPTER 1
THE LIGHTNING GHOST
AVIRA'S POV
Rain fell over the city.
I stood on the roof of a twenty-story building, staring at the mansion across the street.
My target was inside.
Victor Hale.
A wealthy businessman.
A powerful man.
And a monster hiding behind expensive suits and charity events.
My mission was simple.
Get inside.
Find him.
End the mission.
Leave.
I touched the earpiece in my ear.
“Avira, do you copy?”
“Loud and clear.”
“Your target is on the third floor. Twenty guards around the mansion.”
I looked down.
Twenty?
I smiled.
“That's all?”
My handler sighed.
“Don't get overconfident.”
“I don't.”
I stepped backward.
The rain slid down my black coat.
I took a breath.
Then ran.
One step.
Two.
Three.
I jumped from the roof.
The wind hit my face.
For a moment, I was falling through the darkness.
Then—
I landed on the mansion's balcony.
Silently.
The security camera turned toward me.
I was already gone.
A guard walked around the corner.
He didn't even see me.
I moved behind him.
One quick strike.
He collapsed.
Another guard appeared.
He reached for his weapon.
Too slow.
I was already behind him.
He fell beside his partner.
I continued through the hallway.
No noise.
No hesitation.
No fear.
That's why they called me—
The Lightning Ghost.
I reached the third floor.
Victor Hale was only a few doors away.
Then—
“You're late.”
I stopped.
Someone was standing at the end of the hallway.
A man.
Tall.
Broad shoulders.
Black suit.
Dark hair.
Sharp eyes.
He looked completely calm.
I raised my weapon.
“Who are you?”
He didn't answer.
Instead, he looked at the unconscious guards.
Then at me.
“You're faster than I expected.”
I narrowed my eyes.
“How do you know about me?”
He smiled.
“I know a lot about you.”
I pulled the trigger.
CLICK.
Nothing.
My eyes widened.
The magazine was gone.
When did he take it?
I attacked.
My fist flew toward his face.
He blocked it.
I kicked.
He moved.
I attacked again.
Faster.
He dodged.
Again.
Again.
Nobody had ever kept up with me.
I increased my speed.
My body became a blur.
But the stranger followed every movement.
Then he caught my wrist.
I twisted free and jumped backward.
We stared at each other.
“You're good,” he said.
“You're annoying.”
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
“Jasper Carter.”
I froze.
Jasper Carter.
The billionaire.
The ruthless businessman.
The man secretly feared by the underground world.
The Black Wolf.
“What does the Black Wolf want with me?”
His smile disappeared.
“Nothing.”
“Then move.”
“I can't.”
“Why?”
He looked around.
“You're standing in my mansion.”
I glanced around.
Damn.
I had entered his territory without knowing it.
Before I could respond—
BOOM!
An explosion shook the building.
Windows shattered.
People screamed downstairs.
Jasper's expression instantly changed.
“That wasn't my security.”
“Someone attacked the mansion.”
“Obviously.”
Gunfire erupted below.
Jasper looked at me.
“Are you working with them?”
“No.”
“Neither am I.”
Armed men rushed into the hallway.
“There!”
“Kill them!”
I looked at Jasper.
“Stay out of my way.”
Then I disappeared.
Lightning.
I moved between the attackers.
One fell.
Then another.
Then another.
They couldn't follow me.
One man fired.
I moved before the bullet reached me.
Another tried to attack from behind.
I was already behind him.
Within seconds, the hallway became silent.
Jasper stared at me.
“You really are the Lightning Ghost.”
I turned toward him.
“You talk too much.”
“And you move too fast.”
I ignored him.
Then I saw something.
One of the attackers had a tattoo on his wrist.
A black rose.
Surrounded by a broken crown.
My entire body froze.
That symbol.
My heart began pounding.
Ten years.
Ten years of searching.
Ten years of revenge.
I grabbed the man's wrist.
“Where did you get this?”
He laughed.
“You'll never find them.”
“Who?”
His smile widened.
“They already found you.”
A gunshot suddenly came through the broken window.
BANG!
Jasper grabbed my arm and pulled me down.
The bullet struck the wall behind us.
I stared at him.
He had saved me.
“I don't need saving,” I said coldly.
“I know.”
“Then why did you do it?”
His eyes met mine.
“Because I don't want you dead.”
My heart skipped.
I hated that feeling.
Jasper stood.
Then he looked directly at me.
“Avira Moore.”
Everything inside me stopped.
My weapon was instantly pointed at his chest.
Nobody knew that name.
Nobody.
“How do you know my name?”
Jasper didn't move.
“I told you.”
His voice became quiet.
“I know a lot about you.”
“Who told you?”
“No one.”
“Then how?”
He stepped closer.
“Because I've been looking for you.”
“Why?”
His eyes moved toward the black rose tattoo.
“Because the organization that destroyed your family…”
He paused.
“…is coming for mine too.”
I stared at him.
For the first time in ten years, I wondered if my revenge had been leading me somewhere else.
Maybe our meeting wasn't an accident.
Maybe someone had planned it.
Jasper extended his hand.
“Work with me.”
I looked at his hand.
Then at him.
“I don't work for anyone.”
He smiled.
“Neither do I.”
I slowly lowered my weapon.
But before I could answer—
A voice came through the mansion's speakers.
Distorted.
Cold.
Familiar.
«“Welcome back, Avira.”»
My blood froze.
Jasper looked at me.
The lights went out.
And in the darkness, another message appeared on every screen in the mansion.
YOUR FAMILY IS STILL ALIVE.
My breath caught.
Then a photograph appeared.
My mother.
My father.
Both alive.
And standing beside them—
was the man I had spent ten years hunting.
The leader of the Black Rose.
