There were two more days before the Ministry of Defence handover trials were upon them. By then, every aspect of the plan to hijack the prototype device Hole In The Sky (HITS for short) had to be fail-safe. The revolutionary anti radar equipment, the brainchild of Scott, would be his passport to safety and luxury.
On that same Wednesday morning, off the Essex coast, the HITS project was occupying the technical staff with the last of its sea trials. It was the purpose of these trials to complete the final calibrations on the equipment.
