Ch. 7Marty felt thoroughly revitalised after his evening workout at Sid’s gymnasium. The old fellow always had the uncanny knack of making the exercise session refresh physically, mentally and spiritually. Marty knew that if Sid and his wife had not come into his life when they had, it was anybody’s guess where he might have ended up. They had carefully nursed out all the boiling hate and anger that poisoned him after his parents’ death. The old man had been both saviour and mentor to the young Irishman. The two sat mulling over the mess in which Marty had become entangled. The seriousness of the situation had generated a lively exchange of opinions.
