Chapter Forty-Seven: Texts

2278 Words

Aria’s POV Lying on my bed, I stared at my phone screen for a while, a sheepish smile on my lips. I glanced at the wall clock, past 11 PM, I heaved a sigh before finally typing out a message. “Are you asleep already?” I texted Mia, biting my lips anxiously. I was inwardly hoping and praying for her to respond soon. And ding! Her response come in shortly. “Nope. What’s up?” A huge smile plastered on my lips. I hesitated for a moment as I thought of how to explain how I feel to her, then grinned as I typed. “He told me he was hungry.” A typing bubble appeared immediately. “And?” I thought for a second before responding. “I made dinner for him.” “And?” I frowned slightly. What was she getting at? “He ate it gracefully.” “And?” Now my frowned deepened. “I wished him goodnight.”
