Chapter 2.

1004 Words
{Molly's P.O.V} The alarm buzzes telling me it's 6am and time to actually get up for the day, although I've again not slept much of the night. I take one look at myself in the mirror. Each day I seem to look worse. The dark circles under my eyes are a tell-tale sign that I'm not doing so well. Thank goodness for concealer! I listened carefully to check that no one else was awake yet, so I could jump in the shower first. I prefer to shower first, so I'm not in the 'battle of the bathroom' with the other three. They all get up too late and fight over who's turn it is and how long they get... I'd rather not. By the time they've figured it out, I'm usually done and having my second coffee - bliss! I finally shower and pick out skinny blue jeans and a plain white t-shirt to wear. Simply put together with a pair of white converse... I swear I live for these shoes. I move onto drying my hair and leaving it down. Frankly, having it up gives me a headache and with it being so long and thin, it just looks better down. I moisturise my face and put a small amount of mascara on to finish the look. And that is pretty much my everyday look. I head out the door and see the chaos unfolding before me with the three musketeers. I can't help but chuckle to myself at their antics. "Hey guys!" I say, trying not to look too amused by their chaos. "Hey!" Jack said first as he filed his nails. Jack was super sweet, he had a heart of gold and liked to party hard! He was around 6ft tall, with dark hair and blue eyes and was so devilishly handsome but so clearly batting for the opposite team. He was often approached by women when we were out, who were soon very disappointed when they found out it was never on the cards. He, on the other hand, did not get disappointed when he approached someone he liked the look of and, well, let's just say he's... 'experienced'. "Quit hogging the bathroom, Miles!" Georgia yelled as she continued her assault on the locked bathroom door. She quickly turned to give me a good morning smile, before swiftly continuing on. Georgia was my absolute best friend in the world. We had gone through school together and had both managed to secure a place at the same university on the same degree. We both wanted to go into medicine and it was great having a study partner who was at the same level. She was about 5 ft 6, which towered my 5ft 2 frame, was blond, with blue eyes and just a walking model really. I knew I couldn't compare myself to her looks, but I've never been jealous of her either. She was a little more adventurous than me and liked to party with the best of them - while I am more of a homebird. I like to think we can balance each other out. "Well, I can see no one is taking my advice and actually getting up earlier" I said, with a small laugh. "That's because we are all up way later than you, Molly!" Georgia added groggily. I just shrugged my shoulders and made my way down the stairs. Although it was a little more peaceful downstairs, I could still hear the ramblings of my flatmates upstairs as I made a coffee and made sure I had everything packed in my bag. Today was a study day, which meant I needed everything packed for a day on campus and to go between classes. Miles appeared first - which made sense, since he managed to get into the bathroom before the others. He made himself some food and a coffee and sat at the table to eat. Miles was another taller boy - about 6ft again, short brown hair, brown eyes and very well built. He spent a lot of time at the gym and was actually a great training partner. Although I could see straight through it, he was very flirty and I usually just shrug it off to him being overly flirty with everyone - I mean he wouldn't struggle to get a date, so what would he want with a girl like me? "Have you eaten?" Miles asked, with curiosity in his eyes. "No, you know I'm not a breakfast lover" I said, trying to wave him off. "It really sets you up for the day, Mol. You should try it. You know I worry about you", he added, earning him an eye roll. "I'm a big girl, Miles. I can look after myself." I replied, taking the final sip of my coffee. Miles grumbled at my response, knowing better than to push my stubborn ass. "Well, make sure you don't skip lunch either. It's not healthy" he said. I smiled at him as I grabbed my bag and shouted for Georgia to hurry up or I was leaving without her. A couple of minutes later, she appeared looking as gorgeous as ever and I wonder why I ever panicked. It's not like she won't be ready in time - we actually haven't been late once and we were in our final months before we qualified. I didn't really know what my plans were after university. I didn't know if it was best to try and get a job right away, go travelling or look at post-graduate options to specialize further. I knew one day I wanted to run my own practice, but it felt like it was such a long way off at the moment. We both did a final check and headed out the door, but never in a million years did I think my day would end up the way it did. It all started when we were walking to campus and Georgia had the weirdest interaction with a stranger.
