Chapter 8 - Serah's trap

Ezra's pov

The rage conquering Serah's eyes was enough to give me the idea of an upcoming typhoon!

She loved Kendrick more than anyone and now that he is gone, she is here to take revenge for his brutal death.

"You should go, I am handling everything on my own, sister!" I requested.

Serah has always been stubborn, she never listens to anyone and only does what she likes. Her sudden presence is not only terrifying but also troubling!

"I heard someone is being treated like a prisoner here, is that true?" She asked.

The news about Larisa must have reached her ears and that is the only reason for her to visit me.

"She is my mate, and you must treat her well!" As soon as words left my mouth, she furrowed her brows and clenched her teeth hard.

"She is responsible for my brother's death, and you're asking me to treat her well!" She showed her frustration while her body was burning with anger.

"I vowed to avenge Kendrick's death, and I would prefer if you don't ruin my plan!" My soft tone turned into a rude one.

Serah noticed the rage flashing upon my face and that made her weaken her guard.

"Fine, but I want to stay here, I want to see her misery every day!"

I agreed to her terms and asked one of the maids to keep an eye on her.

The next morning…

Nikolai ran over to me, he was out of breath and his forehead was wrapped in sweat.

"What happened?" I asked.

He looked at me with fear in his eyes and answered hesitatingly "Larisa is not in her room!"

The moment I heard those words, my mind went blank and rage rushed to me at once.

"FIND HER!" I groaned angrily and all the guards and maids started searching for her whereas I also searched every corner, every room but she was nowhere to be found and the panic inside me was rising higher and higher with every single second!

"Serah is also missing!" The maid who was assigned the task to keep an eye on her informed me.

I clenched my palm with rage and ran towards the woods.

Larisa's pov

In the middle of the night, I was captured and brought to this strange creepy place!

Ezra's torture was enough but now his sister also entered the picture to break every bone of mine.

"You are beautiful but very ugly from the inside!" Serah taunted me.

I was tied to a tree and a few wolves were guarding me on Serah's order!

"If you want to kill me, then do it fast," I said, making eye contact with my empty eyes.

"You want to die, don't you?" She asked with a wicked smile on her lips.

All of a sudden, she untied me and moved her lips closer to my ear. "Run as fast as you can because if my men catch you then you're dead for good!"

My heart started pounding fast and shivers slid down my body.

"Runnnnnnn!" As soon as she said that, I started running with my bare feet unaware of the directions. The sharp branches of trees were slitting my arms and legs yet I didn't stop and kept on running.

Her men were chasing after me and they were much faster and stronger. My body couldn't keep up the pace with her men and gave in sooner than I imagined.

My ankle sprained and I fell to the ground. Helpless and weak, I was looking at the faces waiting to kill me, whereas, on the other hand, her men were enjoying the sight of me struggling!

"We caught you!" One of the men said.

Their faces were speaking of the devil inside them and my intuition proved to be true as they started undressing me with their eyes!

Tears rolled down from my eyes, and I started sobbing in front of them but my tears turned into useless water when one of them ripped my cloth from my arm.

"Leave me!" I groaned.

They weren't afraid. Instead, they all started laughing because it was a fun game for them!

Together, they started taking steps toward me and just when they were about to lay their dirty hands on my body, someone came to my rescue.

Ezra stood in front of me as my guard and for the first time I was happy to see him!

"STAY AWAY FROM HER!" He groaned and the entire forest shook from the core.

They all took a step back from him and surprisingly, bent down on their knees!

"Please forgive us, Alpha!" They pleaded, and the fear was visible in their eyes.

Ezra mind linked Nikolai and in the blink of an eye, Nikolai appeared along with a few guards.

"Take them and serve them with our best torture!" He commanded.

The power he was holding in his voice was strong and made everyone follow his order at once!

As everyone left, Ezra turned his head toward me while my gaze was fixed on the ground.

He walked over to me and in the blink of an eye lifted me in his masculine arms!

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I am taking you home!" He answered.

His voice was deep and not strong enough like before as if he was feeling a sort of regret!

"I can walk by myself, Ezra!" Words came out of my mouth.

He didn't respond and kept on walking holding me in his arms. His eyes were focused on the path whereas his heart was beating fast enough for me to hear!

The entire path, my eyes were playing hide and seek with him. My eyes were trying to take a glimpse of his face but kept on shifting the focus from fear of getting caught.

And just like that, the long path was over before I knew it.

Upon reaching home…

Ezra stepped inside my room and gently put me down on the bed.

"Bring the medicines!" He ordered Laura.

Within a minute, she rushed to us with the first aid box and handed it over to Ezra.

"You can now leave and do not let anyone enter the room!" He commanded.
