The Female Apha

Chapter 7

Kol’s POV

         I couldn’t fall asleep; all I could think about is Caroline. Her beautiful blue eyes that had a hint of green in them. Her body, oh her body is perfect. She is skinny but not too skinny; think enough for her to have some curves. Her ass was huge but it wasn’t small either. Her boobs on the other hand were big she had to be at least a DD. What drove me absolutely up the wall was her smell. She smelled like fresh pumpkin pie. It was now 7am and hadn’t slept one bit but it was worth it. I got up I didn’t bother showering since I showered last night before seeing Caroline in her room. My wolf Shadow was pushing me to go see her again, but what if she wanted a break from me? I follow my wolf’s wishes and go see Caroline. As I walk out the door I see her best friend Parker getting ready to knock on her door I step back in my room with the door cracked so I can see what happens. I know it’s wrong but I am curious on what he could want this early.

            Parker knocks on the door and Caroling opens it. It looks like she just woke up. She looks so beautiful; I don’t think anything in this world could tell me otherwise. She walks out into the hall closing the door behind her. “What do you want Parker?” She sounds angry I wonder what happened between them last night.

            “I just wanted to apologize for what I said last night I didn’t know it would upset you. I was just trying to tell you how I felt about him.” Who was he talking about? What did he do to upset my mate? I wanted to speak up and say something but I know it wouldn’t make anything better.

            “Of course you didn’t think it would make me upset. You don’t understand what I went through at the Blood Moon pack.”

            “Then why don’t you tell me? It’s been 12 years I can’t help if you don’t tell me.”

            “I really don’t want you help with this I am fine, it is fine. What I went through doesn’t affect the way I will run this pack, if anything it makes me stronger.”

            “You aren’t wrong Care, you are the strongest wolf I know but it does affect you mentally. I wish you would talk to me I am only trying to help.”

            “Are you going to judge me if I don’t tell you? Like you judge Kol when you don’t even know him!”

            “Why do you keep defending this guy?”

            “Because Parker he is my MATE!! Kol Knight is my mate and the only one who can understand what I went through at the Blood Moon pack. I may have suffered there for a year but he was there for 10 years! I am not saying I love him yet but I am willing to try.”

            “He is your mate? There is no way that monster is your mate.”

            “Listen to yourself Parker! He isn’t a monster I might have thought that in the past but now that I have met him I know I was wrong! His father was the monster not him! If you are going to condemn him for his father’s actions then you might as well condemn me of mine. My father ripped Daniels head of with no remorse. He killed two young boys dad making them orphans instead of imprisoning Daniel. Yes he was saving me but I saw the hate in my father’s eyes that day and he killed him out of cold blood. Now leave me alone I will see you at the meeting.” I was shocked at the words that came out of her mouth. So was Parker, he hung his head down and shame walking away.

            I waited about 10 minutes before going to check on my mate. I knew she had to be upset that was probably their first big fight in 18 years. Parker definitely deserved it for being an ass but I hated the fact Caroline was in pain.

-Knock knock-

            “Parker I told you to go away!”

            “It’s not Parker love, it’s me Kol. I overheard some of your conversation as I was walking out of my room and I wanted to check on you.” I felt bad for lying but I didn’t want her to know I was listening the whole time. Caroline unlocks the door and lets me in. She wraps her arms tightly around me and starts to cry. “Hey look at me there is no need to cry. It was a little fight; it will be all better later I promise.”

            “I have never been so mad at him though. How can he judge you without even knowing

you.”

            “Well from what I heard you thought the same thing not too long ago.”

            “You heard that?”

            “Honestly love I heard the whole fight.”

            “I am so sorry Kol.”

            “What do you have to be sorry for? That was before you met me. Now go get ready it is 8am you have a meeting in an hour.”

Caroline’s POV

            I can’t believe Kol heard my whole fight with Parker I am so embarrassed. At the same time I was so happy when I heard Kol’s voice. All my pain went away as soon as my arms wrapped around him. I never show that emotional side of me to anyone but Dad, Parker, Lynn and Aaron. I hate that side it makes me feel weak. I really hate that it hasn’t even been a day and my mate has already seen me break down.

            I walk to the closet and pick out a pair of leggings and a nice blue sweater. Once I am dressed I go brush my hair and teeth. I can’t stop thinking about mine and Parker’s fight last night and this morning. That was the first time we have ever fought like this. To make it worse it was over something neither of us can control. Kol is my mate and Parker is going to have to get over it.

            About 10 minutes later I walk out of the bathroom and Kol is standing by the door waiting for me. I don’t know what to say to him. He just seen me at one of my lowest moments actually he has seen me at my 3 lowest moments; me crying after my fight with Alex, me crying after my fight with Parker, and me being kidnapped and  tortured by his dad. Why did he still want to be with me? Is it only because of the mate bond or is it because he actually wants me?

            “Hey beautiful are you ready to go?”

             “Yeah but we need to stop by my father’s office first. I don’t want to spring this on him like I did with Parker.” I hope my dad has a better reaction to the news of my mate.

            I take Kol’s hand in mine and lead him up to my dad’s office. Holding Kol’s hand in mine gave me the comfort I needed. I was nervous, what if my dad hates the idea of Kol being my mate? What if he tells me I have to reject him or I can’t be Alpha? I don’t think I can reject him as my mate. I hardly know him and I am not in love with him; but I promised to give this a chance and that is what I am going to do no matter what. We make it to my dad’ s office and my hands are shaking without me noticing.

            “Hey it’s going to be okay love. Your dad isn’t going to stop loving you because of who your mate is.” Well great, that is so much worse than I was think and made me more nervous. “Caroline calm down everything will be okay I promise.” Kol wraps me in a hug making all my worries fade away.

-Knock Knock-

            “Come in,” my dad says. As soon as I heard his voice I let go of Kol and opened the door leaving Kol outside. “Ah sweetheart I was getting ready to head down the conference room for your meeting. Is something wrong?”

            “Nothing is wrong dad I just wanted to talk to you before the meeting about who my mate is.”

            “Okay well why don’t you have a seat.”

            “Thank you, so I didn’t want to spring this on you at the meeting. Just in case you react badly to my mate’s identity.”

            “Now Caroline have you ever seen me lose my cool in a meeting?”

            “Dad that isn’t the point. The point is my mate is one of the last people we wanted my mate to be. I just don’t want you to get upset and tell me I have to reject him. I don’t love him by any means yet but I want to. I want to get to know him and trust him with my life and our pack. He is willing to let me handle all the Alpha duties with his help. He doesn’t want to take that from me.”

            “Caroline Elizabeth! I would never make you reject your mate no matter who it is! The Moon Goddess gives us our mates to complete us so no matter whom your mate is he will be part of this family.”

              “Dad my mate is Kol Knight of the Blood Moon pack.”

            “Wait are you serious?”

            “Yes, I am serious dad. Kol is my mate.”

            “Okay sweetheart. Kol, will you please come in here.” Kol opens the door and steps into the office. “Please have a seat I would like to talk to you both.” Kol sits down next to me on the couch. “When I let you come to into my pack to find your mate, I never thought your mate would be my daughter.”

            “Me either Sir, but the first day I saw her I knew she was my mate.” Kol said, “I know I agreed to tell you when I found my mate but when I seen it was your daughter and that she wasn’t 18 yet I thought it best to wait. I wanted Caroline to make her own decision on to follow the mate bond or reject me. I didn’t want anything or anyone to affect her decision.”

            “It’s okay I am not angry with you. I think what you did was best for my daughter.I do have some request to ask of you. Caroline do you mind leaving for a moment we will meet you outside when we are done.” Dad said. I nod and walk out of the door. I may not be in the room with them but I have really good hearing better than most wolves.

            “Anything Sir,” Kol said.

            “Please take care of her emotionally and physically. As you know she has been through a lot in the past 12 years. I use to blame a lot of that one you and your pack for not trying to help her while your dad had her. That was wrong of me. You were only 9 at the time with a ruthless father who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.”

            “You have nothing to worry about. I will not let anyone hurt her. She is my life and my future now. I will die before anything happens to her.”

            “It is going to be hard Caroline as you have probably noticed and heard is a very quiet person. She likes to be alone and not show her feelings to anyone unless she is mad. I am hoping you can help her open up but you need to be patient.”

            “I will try my best Alpha James.”

            “Good, after the meeting I would like to talk to you about how speiacl Caroline is. Things only her, Parker and I know.”

            “Okay Sir.”

            I hear them start walking towards the door so I step away from the door and act like I didn’t listen to their whole conversation. “Is everything okay?”

            “Just fine Dear lets go to this meeting.” My dad says.

            We walk down to the stairs to the conference room on the 1st floor. The whole time I am holding Kol’s hand for comfort again but as soon as we get to the conference room I let go so no one can think Kol is my mate before telling them myself. We walk into the conference room everyone was waiting for me. Kol went to sit with the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack since he was still technically his Beta until I announce him as my mate. I sit at the head of the table with Parker and Aaron to my left and my dad to my right.

            “I would first like to thank you all for coming on such short notice to my party last night. With the issue of having to find my mate in two weeks time I had to make fast arrangements for a party. Second I would like to thank you all for staying in my pack for an extra night so we can have this meeting today. Before I go any further does anyone have any questions?”

            “Yes, who is the alleged mate of yours?” Alpha Hunter of the Snow Moon pack asks.

            Before I could answer his question Alpha Jacob of the Blue Moon pack asks, “And why didn’t you announce him at the party last night?”

            “Please one question at a time. Alpha Jacob to answer your question, I didn’t feel it was the right time to announce him as my mate. I feel like telling all the pack Alphas in a private meeting is best. Then in two days I will be holding a celebration for my pack to introduce my mate. I do not want my pack finding out who my mate is because of rumors. On that note nothing said in this room today regarding my mate will leave this room.”

            “So Caroline I ask again who your mate is.” Alpha Hunter says.

            “My mate is Kol Knight of the Blood Moon pack.” Everyone starts whispering to each other losing focus. “Everyone please be quiet. I know you all are shocked but you should be happy since majority of you wanted him to be Alpha of MY pack to start with.”

            “When will his Alpha ceremony be?” Alpha Andrew of the Crescent Moon ask.

            “His ceremony won’t be until after we finish the mating process.”

            “Well when will that be?” Alpha Jacob ask.

            “Not that it is any of your business. We will not be completing the process until after I become Alpha of the Silver Moon pack.”

            “That wasn’t the deal we said you must find your mate before becoming Alpha of this pack!” Alpha Jacob yells.

            “And I did exactly that! I found my mate! Nowhere in the deal did you say I had to be to be mated to become Alpha! I also suggest you lower your tone to me Jacob. You are on my territory in my home and you will respect me!” I yell back at him.

            “Caroline no one meant you any disrespect but we did want you to be mated before coming Alpha. How can we trust that you will mate after you become Alpha?” Alpha Andrew questions.

            “Are you calling my mate a Liar Andrew?” Kol butts in.

            “I would never! All I am saying is how can we trust that you two will mate after she becomes Alpha and that this isn’t some trick?” Alpha Andrew questions again.

            “Well maybe you should have thought of that before making the deal.” Kol states. He gets up from his seat and walks over to me and stands behind me with his hand on my shoulder.

            “Well we need time to talk this over!” Alpha Hunter says.

            “Talk what over Hunter? Your deal said I must find my mate, so that is what I did. There is nothing left to talk about. If you don’t like it feel free to leave.”

            “You cant do this!” Alpha Jacob yells

            “Oh I definitely can. You are disrespecting me in my home. Calling me a liar and saying I cant be trusted. I have not done anything to not be trusted. I did what the deal said to do. If you don’t like that then say goodbye to our peace treaty. That goes for any pack who wants to disrespect me. I am the only child of two first born Alphas and I am the rightful heir of my pack. If you want to stand in my way that is fine but be ready for war against the strongest pack in America and the 3rd Strongest in the world.”

            “You wouldn’t dare declare war.” Alpha Andrew said 

            “Just watch me! So what will it be keep your end of the deal or go to war?”

            The Alphas talk amongst their selves debating whether or not I am serious. Little do they know I am just bluffing. I wouldn’t declare war, it would be a selfish reason to declare war with other packs. I just need them to think I would be that selfish it’s the only way I will get what I want from them. Ten minutes have passed and they all become quiet. “Have you made your decision?”

            “We have, we will be honoring our deal.” Alpha Hunter said.

            “Nice to hear you are all dismissed.” They all get up and start to walk out the door. “Alpha Jack!” He turns around to look at me. “Do you and Chris mind staying for a moment to talk?”

            “Not at all Caroline.” Alpha Jack said.

            “I couldn’t help but notice neither one of you said anything the whole meeting.”

            “There wasn’t much to say Care.” Chris said

            “Well I would like to know how you feel about losing your Beta.”

            “Well to be honest we knew you were Kol’s mate 2 weeks ago when he first saw you.” Jack said

            “Wait really so he told you?”

            “Yes, I made him promise to call me as soon as he found his mate just in case I needed to promote Ben to Beta.” Jack said.

            “I did warn him you might not accept him as your mate.” Chris said.

            “Well why would you think that Chris? Am I really the predictable?”

            “I have known you both since we were little. Kol is my best friend and you Care have been a good to me since my dad took over despite everything that happened. You guys are the complete opposite. You are so closed off and he is so open about everything and I mean everything.” Chris said laughing

            “Okay she gets the point dude.” Kol says.

            “Well anyway I just figured being with Kol would open up memories you wouldn’t want opened. I just wanted to prepare him for that. But to my surprise you didn’t reject him and I want to thank you for that. Kol is a great guy and you deserve someone like him after the s**t you have been through.” Chris says.

            “Thank you Chris you are a great friend now please get to your mate and remember I want you to come back soon for a visit.”

            “I will thank you Caroline. Take good care of my boy.” Chris says while hugging me and Kol.

            “Now Caroline were you being serious of starting a war?” Jack asked.

            “Of course not Jack. You should know better. That would have been a selfish reason to start a war. But Hunter Jacob and Andrew bought it so that’s all that matters. If they wanted to be mated first they should made that clear to begin with.”

            “That’s what I thought. Now please take care and enjoy being Alpha it is hard work but you can handle it. If you need anything you have my number.”Jack said. Both Jack and Chris left to conference room leaving me, Kol, dad, Aaron and Parker.

            “Caroline you did a wonderful job of holding your ground.” Aaron said.

            “Thank you Aaron. You haven’t officially met my mate. Aaron this is Kol. Kol this is Aaron my dad’s Beta.”

            “Nice to meet you Beta Aaron.” Kol says shaking his hand.

            “Call me Aaron no need for the Beta. Here soon Parker will Beta anyways. Have you met my son yet Kol?” Aaron asks.

            “Only briefly at the party last night.” Kol said reaching his hand out to Parker. “Nice to officially meet you Parker.” Parker hesitates to shake Kol’s hand but finally does.

            “Nice to meet you too.” Parker says.

            “Well if you will excuses us we must go help Lynn.” Aaron says while him and Parker leave the room.

            “Kol there is something I would like to tell you before we go any further with our relationship.” I say.       

            “Okay is it the same thing your dad wanted to tell me after the meeing?” Kol asks.

            “Yes, dad do you mind?” I say.

            “Not at all I will see you both at dinner. I will start talking to Emily about planning a party for the pack on Saturday.” Dad says then leaves the room giving me time to talk to Kol.

            “So I don’t want o hind anything from you and what I am about to tell you is really important.”

            “Okay love.” Kol sits down nest to me grabbing my hand.

            “ My great grandparents were the first of our kind. They were blessed with amazing powers and the ability to shift into a wolf. For the longest time it was only them but my grandpa discovered that biting a  human while in wolf form would cause the human to become a werewolf as well. They made their closest friends into wolves and spilt up the world into territories. They gave each of their friends a territory making them Alphas. Each new Alpha was allowed to do as they please in their new territories including turning humans into wolves, as long as they didn’t out themselves to the other humans.” I start to explain “My Grandparents had a son who became the Alpha of their pack. He married the daughter of an Alpha from another pack. Then their son married an Alphas daughter from another pack and so on and so forth. No couple was ever two first born children of the Alphas but they were all of Alpha blood. My mom and Dad were the first two to be the first born children of Alphas. So there is an old prophecy saying, there will come a day when a daughter of the first two wolves will be born. Her parents will be the first born children of Alphas, making the daughter a True Alpha. When the daughter turns 18 her wolf Skye will awaken and guide her on a path of greatness. She will be the strongest wolf since the first of her kind; she will have many abilities that no other wolf has.”

            “Wow that is a lot to take in Caroline.”

             “Yeah I know but that’s not all.”

            “Wait there is more?”

            “Yes, the reason your dad kidnapped me is because he knew about the prophecy and wanted to use me to take over all the packs in America.”

            “That’s why he kidnapped you? I thought he just wanted your fathers pack and was going to use you as leverage to get it.”

            “I only wish that was the reason my life would be so much easier.” I laugh.

            “So why are you telling me all this?”

            “Well Skye says the Moon Goddess said I will be the strongest with my mate, which is you. I thought it only fair you know what you are getting into before you completely accept me.”

            “Caroline I don’t care about any of this. It doesn’t change the way I feel for you. You are my mate and I will not leave you.”

            “Okay if you are sure you want to stay I would like to get to know you better.”

            “What would you like to know love?”

            “Just the basics for now. Favorite food, favorite color, hobbies you may have etc.”

            “My favorite food is salmon.” I almost threw up at the thought of salmon. “My favorite color is blue. I like to read books that are a series. I don’t really have a favorite movie but I like action and scary movies. What about you?”

            “My favorite food is steak and lobster, I hate fish especially salmon. My favorite color is purple. I like to ride horses; my dad bought me and Parker horses when we were little for a birthday present. I love any Disney movie, right now Frozen 2 is my favorite. I am not a fan of scary movies. I love going to the zoo, really if it has to do with animals I am all for it.” We continued to talk a learn more about each other.

            Hours went by and we were still talking we have moved on from the basic silly questions onto stories about Kol’s travels the past year. He had been almost everywhere and I had barely left the pack boarder. “I can’t believe you have been to so many different places. I only wish I could travel like that.”

“Yeah it was fun but it would have been more fun if you were with me.” Kol smiles then winks at me.

            “You are just saying that.”

            “Maybe I am or maybe I am not, I guess you will never know.”

            “Well I kind of wish I was with you. I have always wanted to travel but never have been allowed to leave the pack boarders.”

            “Why not? Your dad should have taken you to pack meetings so you can see how things are done.”

            “Well after what happened with your father my dad didn’t want me to leave for my protection.”

            “Oh okay,” Kol looked down at his hands not knowing what to say after that. We were having a good time and I just had to ruin it.

            “Sorry I didn’t mean to upset you or anything.”

            “Im not upset love. I just feel bad because of my dad you couldn’t see the world.”

            “It’s not your fault Kol. Your father’s actions have nothing to do with you. You are so much different from him.”

            “How are you so sure of that Care? There is still so much about me you don’t know.”

            “I remember your father vividly. I can’t forget his cold icy blue eyes. That only showed emotion when he would beat and cut me and not the kind of emotion you want. He enjoyed causing me pain. Your eyes are so much different. I can see every emotion in your eye even if you aren’t showing it on your face. Also there are so many things you don’t know about me either but I think if we take it slow there will be no secrets between us.”

            “How did I get so lucky to have you as my mate?” Kol picked me up hugging me so tight I could barely breathe. I would usually want the person hugging me to let go but with Kol it was different. I never wanted him to let go of me. In his arms I felt safe from everything. Kol let me down after hugging me for about two minutes. After he let go I couldn’t help but stare into his beautiful green eyes. I could tell he was happy right now and I was going to do everything in my power to keep him happy.

            “I think I should be asking you that question. I never thought I needed a mate and honestly I never wanted one. Then 24 hour hours ago I found you. Yes the past 24 hours have been crazy but I don’t think I would change it for anything. I want to be the reason you smile every morning and the last person you think about every night. I don’t know if it is just the mate bond talking but I want you Kol.” I was still looking him in the eyes not knowing what to do next. When Kol grabbed my face and kissed me. Before I knew it the kiss was over and Kol pulled away from me.

            “I am sorry we are supposed to be taking it slow.” He was right we were and that was anything but slow. I didn’t care I wanted his lips against mine and so did Skye. She was howling in the back of my head for more and I couldn’t deny her. I pulled Kol’s head down to reach me on my tippy toes and put my lips against his. It started out as a nice gentle kiss when Kol stopped again, “are you sure about this Caroline.”

            “Yes! Just shut up and kiss me!” Kol didn’t hesitate to listen to me he picked me up and set me on the table. I looked into his eyes one last time they had turn black with lust making me want him even more, then he kissed me. I was everything I wanted, his lips on mine. The kiss started as a passionate kiss then turned into our tongues finding their way into each other’s mouths. Kol taste so good like nothing I have ever tasted before. I never wanted the kiss to stop and it didn’t for a few minutes until someone came into the conference room where we were.
