26 - Masanori Sparks flew from Masanori's naginata when the blade met the kawama's outstretched claws. The creature snarled, a noise of raw frenzy that vibrated through his bones. He danced backward and avoided another swipe and a blast of ice sent from Hidekazu's staff. Frost spread along the kawama's alabaster arms, and though the chill slowed its movements, cracks formed and fell away as quick as the ice advanced. Masanori slipped behind the kawama, blood splashing around their feet, and stabbed the yōkai in the back. His blade phased through its flesh, and the unexpected lack of resistance sent him barrelling forward with the momentum of the thrush, right into the kawama's arms. Claws raked his arms, and he shrieked. "Mine now," the kawama said, and dug razors into Masanori's bice
