9 - Hidekazu
The blow sent Hidekazu crashing to the floor, his ears ringing, residue electricity evaporating around him. He remained still, trying to control his ragged breathing.
"I told you what would happen if you failed me again. Two months of study, and you still fail to recite the book from memory." Barame's shadow fell over Hidekazu, and he flinched. "This is a simple task, boy. If you cannot do this, then you cannot become a bushi."
