One long beep and a previously erratic line turning flat. I never knew I could run so fast in my life. Screaming for help, I literally dragged the first doctor I saw, and the next thing I knew, I was being ushered out of the room with no way of seeing what was happening inside. With trembling hands and a pounding heart, I dialled Mrs. Lévesque. Head between my hands, I shook in my seat as I waited for any news of Alessandra's condition. It's been 6 days since the love of my life has been admitted to the hospital, and the doctors told me yesterday that Alessandra was getting better. Then today, this happens. I think I'm about to pass out. Maybe sometimes, you don't get her back.
