"Fluffy!" Someone called. "Fluffy, where are you?"
"Meaow!" Fluffy replied.
"There you are! Come here. C'mon, time to drink milk."
"Nilofer!!!" A strong women's voice called.
"Yes?" Nilofer replied. She got fluffy in her one hand. A cup of milk in the other hand.
"Come inside, your uncle need tea."
"Coming aunty!" Nilofer put fluffy on the ground near her milk plate. She pored milk in it. "Drink kitty, grow up!" She jumped a little. Then she ran inside.
"Hurry up!" The woman shouted
"I'm coming aunty." Nilofer replied. She came inside the kichen, she washed her hands and put the cup on the shelve.
"Take the tea pot and give your uncle tea. You know his temper. He wants tea when he gets up." Nilofer's aunty said.
"Yes I know." Nilofer said while picking up the tea pot and a cup.
"Shazia? Where is my tea?!!" The loud voice of Mr Jamal almost felt like a current. Nilofer ran out from the kitchen into the living room.
"Here Uncle," she said. She sit down on the floor, put the cup down and start to pour tea in it.
"Hurry! Why is everyone in this house so slow!" He shouted.
"Sorry uncle." Nilofer picked up the cup of tea and handed it to Mr Jamal.
"Thank you daughter. No one cared about me though!" He shouted as if he was trying someone to heard it. Nilofer smiled. Then she picked the teapot and went towards kitchen.
"You heard him?" Ms Shazia said.
"Yes I do." Nilofer smiled.
"How selfish he is! How rude he is! What have I done so wrong?" She said.
"O aunty, never mind him. He just enjoyed teasing you."
"No, he doesn't, he don't do that before! He started this after we started to take care of you!" Ms Shazia replied. Nilofer lowered her head a little. Abdullah , (Mr and Mrs Jamal's son) entered in the kitchen.
"You! Its your fault! That father of yours leaved a burden for us!" She tossed the dish on the shelve. "Brat!" She went out of the kitchen. Nilofer kept her head lowered.
"Nilofer?" Abdullah said.
"O! Good morning brother!" Nilofer smiled.
"Good morning." Abdullah also smiled. " Mom,... she hadn't sleep properly last night. That's why she..."
Nilofer started to cry. Abdullah put his hand on her head. "Little fairy? Listen." She looked at Abdullah. "I am here. Your brother knows you're a good girl. I am with you. Then why are you crying?"
"Will you always be there?" Nilofer asked while sobbing.
"Always. I promise." Abdullah smiled. Nilofer also smiled.
"Now tell me how many times you failed in maths?"
"No! I never failed any exam!" Nilofer said angrily. Abdullah started to laugh loudly.
"Why are you laughing?" Nilofer asked.
"Your such a kid. Your moods changes so quickly." He laughed again.
"OK, are you hungry brother?"
"Surely! I am"
"What will you eat? Sand which?"
"Just bread and jam. Give me a slice. I'm going to get ready for the office."
"Again! Just bread and jam?"
"Yes again." Abdullah went out of the kitchen." Oh! And a cup of tea would be nice."
"Order is placed!" Nilofer smiled.
"So, is everyone cleared? Good. I want all the files on my desk until tomorrow. Clear?" Murad asked.
"Yes sir!" All the staff replied.
"Good." Murad went out of the meeting room.
"Tahir!" Mr Hasan entered the living room where Mr Tahir was sitting.
"Hasan!" Mr Tahir stood up. He wears simple cloths with a cloak.
"It's been months since I visited you last." Mr Hasan and Mr Tahir shook hands. They both sit in front of each other.
"Murad's in the office?" Mr Hasan asked.
"You know him. A hard worker." Mr Tahir replied.
"I'll say passionate. He had worked so hard. He opened 5 new companies of his own with the 3 of yours. Still, he manages everything so properly." Mr Hasan said.
"He has changed. Completely. The kid who bumps in everything first then ask for guidance has now become a professional guider himself. Even after facing such a hard time.." Mr Tahir said.
"I know." Mr Hasan replied.
"So, I need the interns to learn how to take care of animals. Ask Mr Kamal to arrange a trip in our pet shelter homes for them so that they could see by themselves." Murad said.
"Right away sir." Usman, Murad's sectary, said.
"Have you made the annual budget?" Muard asked.
"Here it is sir." Usman took a file out and place it on Murad's desk.
Murad picked it up and start reading. "Why our posting company suffers loss?"
"Sir you know, the post office case, that's why. People started losing their trsut but we will manage it in the next 2 months. Insha Allah."
"Insha Allah. Usman, order food for all the office and also for the beggers. All of them. All you can found. Serve the best food to them and asked them to pray for us."
Usman smiled." Right away sir."
"What happened exactly Tahir? I asked Murad at my last visit but he didn't told me." Mr Hasan asked. Mr Tahir took a deep breath and said,
"After Shehram's death, Hania attempted suicide. She locked her door and cut her veins. When we came, it was already too late. My wife, she cannot bear everything. She became mentally sick. Day by day. We called so many physiatrists and many phycologists but nothing worked out. She lost her mental level completely and one day, when Shehram's death completed two years, she received a heart attack and went in comma. After 15 days, she died."
"Tahir, you are also ill my friend." Mr Hasan said.
"No, I'm not. Murad don't even let a llitle flu near me." He smiled.
"You sure?" Mr Hasan asked.
"Yes, I completed all my medical tests a week ago." Mr Tahir smiled.
"Well, I believe in Murad. If he's the one taking care of you then I can relax" Mr Hasan said.
"Yes, he is. But sometimes, I think that this is all my fault." Mr Tahir said.
"How come?"
"If I had teached my family about Islam, things haven't gotten this bad. If I told them that how much Allah loved us, that he loved every human, not Muslims only, every human more than 70 mothers. My wife can't handle the death if her 2 children and Allah, Allah loved every human more than 70 mothers! If I told them that death is not the end, its just a gateway. But I don't. My father told me this but I, I don't tell this to my children and wife. I don't told them that Allah never burdened a soul more than it could not bears. Shehram knew everything, he learned it. He told Murad. That's why Murad survived. That's why my son don't even care about his life. He wants to spread justice. He wants to help his motherland. He was not afraid of death because he believed that death is not the end. But I didn't, its my fault. I wanted my family to be liberal, to be modern! But I forgot that being a Muslim means to idolize the life of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), not to copy the west. Its all my fault. All my fault.!" Mr Tahir lowered his head.
"No my friend, maybe its due to your little mistakes, but you can't blame yourself for everything. Look at Murad, he's your son! He's helping so many social working agencies, and without telling anyone about his name. If you were such a bad person, then why would you have such a honest and caring son? Its all due to your good guidance." Mr Hasan said.
"Really?" Mr Tahir seemed convened.
"Really." Mr Hasan smiled.
"I'll be doing it then sir." Usman turned around towards the door.
"Usman!" Murad said while looking at a file.
"Yes sir?"
"When are you retiring?"
"Tomorrow sir."
"Ok. Did you arrange the interview?"
"I have done it sir. It's also tomorrow"
"Good. If you want anything anytime, you can always trust me."
"I know sir. I know." Usman smiled and leaved the room.
"You did what?!" Nilofer stood up from her bed. She was sitting there, writing diary. Her room's theme was peach. All things in shades of yellow and peach. Too many soft toys. It didn't looked like a room of a 23 years old girl.
"You gave them my name also?" She asked.
"Yes! What's the big deal? Mr Usman said us that if we knew anyone loyal and passionate, we can give him the names." Abdullah said .
"Brother! But it's an interview for a sectary of the CEO of so many companies!" She said
"Don't you worry, no one is more hardworking and loyal than you. I know this much." Abdullah said in a light tone.
"That's the issue brother! You knew this! Not the CEO!" Nilofer said.
Abdullah started to laugh so hard.
"Ok ok, just give it a try. Just for experience." He said hardly .
"Ok, I will. Now pay attention on your work and please, eat something!" Nilofer said.
"Ok ok boss!" Abdullah laughed again.
"Allah Hafiz." Nilofer said.
"Allah Hafiz." Abdullah said.
"Oh brother! Your so sweet!" Nilofer smiled. She went out of her room when she heard Ms Shazia talking with Mr Jamal.
"How longer are we going to let her stay?" She said.
Nilofer tightened her fists.
"She just eat and eat. How long will we fed her?"
"She's my niece, don't say things like that. She will find a Job for herself. Look? She has completed her studies." Mr Jamal said.
"No, no more! My daughter is coming back from America. She made a sudden plan. She told me now. She wants to surprise you. I don't want her to see that brat. You know she gets angry." Ms Shazia said.
Nilofer just tightened her fists even more.
"So? What should we do?"
"Let's said her to leave. She can go to her friend's home."
"How's that possible? Why now?"
"Because my daughter can be here any minute now! Kick her out! Tell her to stay in her friend's house for one night and send her to Sibi (a city of Baluchistan) to her mother's releitives."
Nilofer's eyes get wet.
"Are you sure?" Mr Jamal said. "Yes. 100℅" she said.
"I'll talk to her." Mr Jamal turned around.
"No need uncle." Nilofer opened the door. "I just heard what you said."
"That's good." Ms Shazia said.
"I'll be packing my stuff." Nilofer turned around and went to her room.
After 2 hour
"You did what?!" Abdullah said angrily. They were in the living room. Mr Jamal was sitting and was lost in his news paper while Ms Shazia was standing like Abdullah.
"Don't worry son, tomorrow we will send her to Sibi, to her relatives." Ms Shazia said.
"And she agreed?" Abdullah asked.
"Yes."
"Where is she now?"
"In her friend's house."
"Zainab's house?"
"Yes. Zainab's house."
"Oh mom! What have you done! She was going to give an interview in my company." Abdullah said. "Your so cruel!"
"Son!" She said angrily.
"Don't you remember how many times his father helped us? You always reacted negatively with her! " Abdullah said angirly. Then, he marched in his room and shut the door as hard as he could.
"See?"Mr Jamal said.
"What?" Ms Shazia asked.
"Oh Shazia, your really a hard mother." Mr Jamal get lost in his newspaper again.
After an hour:-
"I'm fine brother. Besides,if the company gives me residence, It would be great!" Nilofer was still full of hope. They were talking on the phone
"You sure?" Abdullah asked.
"Yup!" Nilofer said.
"Ok then. I'll take you tomorrow. Please, don't get late."
"I won't. I promise!"
"Shab bakhair.(Good night)"
"You too." Nilofer turned her phone off.
'Dad, if you were here, it would be so nice.'
"Ok father!" Murad stood up. I'm going to sleep. They were sitting in the garden.
"Ok son, Shab bakhair."
"Make sure you sleep properly. Shab bakhair father." He bend down, take his father's right hand, kiss it and went inside.
"Always stay blessed my son." Mr Tahir smiled.
Muard entered in his room. After wearing night suit, he lied down on his bed.
'Brother, I miss you. If you were here now, how nice it would have been.' Murad sit on his bed. Raised his hands and started praying for his brother.
Nilofer also. 1:00 am in the night, they both got tears in their eyes. Missing their loved ones. "Amen" they both said on the same time. They lied to to their beds and felt asleep.
The next morning:-
"Are you ready?" Abdullah asked on the phone.
"Yes, on the door. Waiting for you." Nilofer replied.
"Ok."
"So, how many candidates did we have?" Murad asked.
"54 sir." Usman replied.
"I'll take the interview myself."
Nilofer was sitting in the third row. Scared, but not that much.
'O Allah! Help me' she keep on saying in her heart.
"Hello?" The accountant said. "I'll send sir." She put the phone down. "Ms Nilofer,"
"Yes?" Nilofer replied.
"Its your turn."
"Oh, ok." Nilofer gently get up. Walked straight, knocked first then opened the door and asked, "Can I enter sir?"
"Yes please, come in" Murad replied. Nilofer entered. She closed the door gently.
"Please, have a seat." Murad said.
"Thank you." She walk firmly towards the chair.
'Good.' She thought.
Thug!
"Ouch!" She tossed her foot in Murad's desk.
Murad just looked at her with surprise.
"Pardon me." She sits next to him. Smiling.
"No problem." Murad said.
