I retrieved the letter from my pillow, unfolded it and read the lines over and over in my head until I memorised every ink. The realization sat like a stone in my stomach as I folded the paper back. I didn't tell Jax about the letter. "Come home, daughter, your real father is waiting...." The words refused to leave my head. Everything inside me screamed that I should show him, Jax would know what to do, he would be able to protect me. But what if Jax was lying? The thought of it alone hurt me.
