“You are absolutely not coming.” Jax snapped at me. I crossed my arms immediately. “You brought me downstairs already. It is too late to pretend that I have options now.” Jax looked one second away from developing another stress headache. “That was before Dante told me the warehouse might be armed.” Dante raised one hand calmly. “In my defense, I specifically said heavily armed.” “Oh good,” I muttered. “That definitely sounds safer so I'm coming.” Minutes later we were standing inside the underground operations room beneath the estate while maps and surveillance images covered the large digital screen behind them.
