Noah had time to think things through and calm some of the bubbling rages inside him so that he could talk like a civil person with his brother instead of pummeling him to death. Now that Noah was standing at the door of Bluebell's diner with his hand interlaced with hers, he feared he might lose his temper again if he saw Nate, Bluebell gave his hand an encouraging squeeze which made him let out a sigh as they entered the diner. There sat Nate in a corner booth like always. A gasp escaped Bluebell's mouth as she looked at his state. He had a black eye, both cheekbones bruised and a busted and swollen lip, even though he had a few bandages, he looked in bad shape.
