Kasey and I walked into my parents' house and before I could place my bag down my mother ran towards me with a beaming smile and slight tears in her eyes.
"Hayley. I've missed you so much, darling." She said in a shaky voice and pulled me into a tight hug. I wrapped my arms her shoulders and instantly felt comfortable.
"I hope you're alright. You have been eating properly? Are you happy? Do you miss us?" My mother got out almost running out of breath.
I placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"Mom, relax. I'm okay really. Yes, I do miss you and dad." I placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Why don't you go to your room and relax for a bit until lunch. I'm making chicken salad, your favorite." She moved to the fridge and I headed to my room with Kasey following behind me.
