I had barely slept, my thoughts crowded with the words I had read in the white book. Still, when Kael’s voice came from the hallway, I went. He stood near the entrance to the training grounds, already dressed in dark clothes that clung to his frame. The mark on his side from the battle was fading, but I could tell he still moved with care.
