The clock tower's interior was a maze of gears, pendulums, and ticking clockwork mechanisms. Asher and Echo moved stealthily, their footsteps masked by the constant whirring and ticking of the clocks. As they climbed higher, the air grew thick with the scent of oil and metal. Echo's suit beeped, detecting a faint energy signature emanating from the heart of the clock tower. "What is that?" Asher whispered, his eyes locked onto the energy signature. Echo's gaze followed his. "I'm not sure, but it looks like some kind of energy core." Asher's eyes narrowed. "I think I know what it might be. Follow me." He led Echo to a hidden room deep within the clock tower. Inside, they found a massive clockwork mechanism, its gears and pendulums pulsing with a soft blue light. At the heart of the mechanism was a glowing crystal, its facets reflecting the light of the clockwork machinery. Echo's suit beeped, detecting a powerful energy signature emanating from the crystal. "This is it," Asher said, his voice barely above a whisper. "This is the Clockwork Heart, the source of the Timekeepers' power." Echo's eyes widened. "What does it do?" Asher's expression turned grim. "It manipulates time itself. With this device, the Timekeepers can alter the course of history." Echo's grip on her suit's armrest tightened. "We have to destroy it." But as they turned to leave, they were confronted by a figure emerging from the shadows...
