The Mystifying Well

( Alarm clock ringing...)
My alarm clock is shouting so loud. It's 5 o'clock in the morning. I decided to set it this early since the teacher said that our camp service will come at 7 at school. I guess I'm just too excited. I got up from the bed then went to the kitchen and saw my mom preparing some coffee. She probably woke up early to come to see me off.
Lauren sent me a message that we'll meet by the gate of the school. We talked last night for about 20 minutes, talking about only science stuff.
"Good morning sweetie, be sure to take good care of yourself while in the camp," mom said while still yawning.
I just took a fast bath, packed the things I would bring, and wear my mask. "You're not eating?" asked my mom. "I'll just eat on my way to school," I said as I walk towards her and kissed her on the cheeks. Then I opened the door. "See you in two days" I added then I signaled the cab that was about to pass by.
(Phone ringing...)

This is it! It's camp time. "I'll be sure to tell Shiela a lot of adventurous stories, that'll make her cover up her ears," I said as I grin while visualizing.
"Uhm Mei, I'm sorry for being late, did you wait for so long?" Lauren said while approaching me.
"Uhm no, I just got here," I said but that was not true. I am waiting for her for about an hour now, but it's fine, maybe she just did something important.
We are currently at the school gate by now, waiting for our service bus for the camp to come.
"Hey Mei, where's Shiela? She's not coming?" Claire said while approaching me.
"No, that blonde pony probably is still having make-up dreams right now," I said.
"Do you have someone with you? come join us" Claire said while pointing out to her group of friends.
"Thanks but, I'm good, I'm with Lauren," I said but as I look by my side, Lauren isn't there.
"Lauren? O-kay, just come whenever you want to" Claire said then she went to her friends.
Minutes later and the bus came. But Lauren isn't here already, where did she go? "Where are you, Lauren?" I whispered while looking around.
"There you are, where have you been?" I said as I saw her, she's holding two cold brew coffee in her hands.
"I bought us a cold brew, here," she said while handing me the cold brew. "Oh thank you, let's go," I said then we enter the bus.
We are sitting in the last row. The teacher said that it will only take 1 hour and a half to get to our destination, to our campsite. It's a mountain and we aim to reach its top by tomorrow. This camp is a two-day trip. I wonder what Shiela is doing by now. Maybe she's just making t****k videos at this time. "I'm still sleepy" I whispered while yawning.
Lauren looked at me and said, "You can sleep, I'll just wake you up when we get there". "Oh yeah thanks a lot, I'm really really still feels sleepy right now," I said then a little while, I fell asleep.
(A little while later...)
"Please come back," said someone whom I don't know. I opened my eyes and realized that I just heard a voice from my dream. It's the same words I often hear. I realized that I was just dreaming.
I looked around and saw nobody on the bus but me, the bus is empty and Lauren is not by my side either. "Where are they?" I murmured.
I looked at my mask beside me and wear it then I decided to go out of the bus. I can see a lot of people. But I can't see anyone I know from school. These people are probably just tourists.
"Have they go on without me?" I whispered in the air while looking at the mountain. But Lauren said that she would wake me up. Oh well, I'll just find them.
I started to walk by the foot of the mountain. I reached the campsite which the teacher oriented us about yesterday. This is where we should be staying later for the night but I still didn't see anyone I know. "Are they starting the activities already?" I thought of.
I decided to wander around hoping that I could find them. I continued to walk and I know this place was a little far from where I've been already. People are starting to get fewer in this part of the mountain where I am.
What time is it? I forgot to check it from my phone. "Oh shoot! I left it on the bus" I said as I touch my pocket and didn't feel my cellphone in there.
"Are you lost?" said the old lady. "Oh Gosh!" I said as I got startled by her. "Yeah, sort of," I said while looking around. I can't see anyone else this time, just the old lady and me.
"Are you looking for the other students?" she asked. I don't know but I have this feeling that I already saw her elsewhere, before.
"Yes, do you know where they go to? I asked her.
"Yes, I saw them by the well not too far from here," she said while pointing out the direction.
"Thank you very much" I replied, then I was about to walk when...
"You have such a pretty nice mask young lady," she said. I looked back at her but I saw her walking. She's already far from me.
I continued to walk and " Oh Thank Goodness" I whispered as I saw them. I began to search for Lauren first but I can't see her.
"Claire, have you seen Lauren?" I asked while approaching her. Something is strange about them. They all have the same emotions on their face. Claire didn't respond but she looked at something. She looked at the other students. That is when I noticed that there were a lot of them surrounding the well. They're all looking down. They all are looking strange.
"Excuse me," I said as I walk to get close to the well. But I was shocked to see what they're all looking at. I looked down the well and-
"Oh my God," I said then I covered up my mouth with my hands. I can't look. How did it happen?
I saw Lauren, she's already lifeless while her body is floating in the well.
