chapter 6

I went to check on rory after i changed my clothes , i couldn't help but stare at her beautiful face , she is so beautiful and peaceful , i pulled the cover over her tiny body and tucked her in , i turned off the light and left the door ajar .

Few hours later i was browsing the internet for a free job , but like this morning there was none , i guess locals here don't like to hire new people , sighing i went to the kitchen to make my chocolate flan , but i heard footsteps , i looked up to find tiny feet descending on my satircase with little pout on her beautiful mouth , i went for her and held her to me .

" what's wrong rory ? " i asked her as she began to sniffle .

" i want my daddy " she said as the first sob escaped her mouth .

" oh poor baby , tell you what , how about you come with me to the kitchen where we can make chocolate flan for both of us and daddy , we can show him off your cooking skils , what do you say ? " i asked her hoping she would say yes , she was irresistable , yet i feared deep down of hurting her , but then again how can i ? , i will control myself , for her atleast .

" okay " she said with a little smile .

" okay !, c'mon then we should get started " .

I went to the kitchen with rory still in my arms , she looked a little more comfortable , i hope she likes what we are about to do .

We started making our chocolate flan , as we began adding ingredients , rory helped me alot when it came to the chocolate part , she practicaly had chocolate all over her face , and since she looked so cute i took a picture of her to show liam later what a great cook his daughter is .

It wasn't long after that , when liam came asking for his beloved daughter , i couldn't help but laugh when she refused to go with him , she said " i don't want to go yet " and that made me laugh even harder .

" you can come in , stay for dinner , iam sure she will want to go after she eats her chocolate flan , aren't you rory " i asked her to which she nodded eagerly .

He seemed relecutant to the matter , so i left him with his daughter to have a little chat while i went to the kitchen to continue with dinner .

I wonder where his wife is ? , and how could she leave the two of them on their own ? , i mean if she had problems with liam , that happens , but what about rory ? , how can any woman resist her ? , i don't understand her really .

You are getting attached here !

My consience said and she was right , iam getting attached i only saw the child twice and iam whipped around her litttle finger.

You have to stop or she and her father will get hurt , you are here for a fresh start !.

I knew she was right about that too , and if i want to be part of rory's life i have to be in control , i can't let my powers hurt more people .

Iam sorry cassy , but your parents died in a car accident !

I remember that day clearly when it all began , the thunder storms , the graves and all the darkness that envolved me , i had to stay strong ever since but i couldn't , not when you get bullied and told how lonely you are and how that no one wants you ! .

" cassy you alright ? " i heard liam say as he shook me lightly .

"Huh ? " when did he get in , oh my god what the hell am i doing ? , i have done it all wrong , the dinner is ruined .

" cassy ! " he repeated .

" yes ? " he looked at me as if i had lost my mind which is kinda true , i have to stop these day dreams .

" are you okay ? " he asked again slowly this time , holding my face so i can look at him .

" uh , yes iam fine , what are you doing here ? " i asked him and began making dinner again but right this time .

" there was thunder outside , nothing like what we usually see when it happens " he said and i cursed myself silently for losing control again .

" what do you mean , i didn't hear anything " i said acting innocent , that's what i was good at , i mean practising through the years make you good .

" i mean there was thunder out side , the sky turned all red like there was some kind of battle up there , we never witnessed anything like that before , even i got the chills , and i don't fear thunder " liam said looking at me suspeciously , i bet my lip trying to figure out what i should do or say , when i was about to lose hope of coming up with a come back, little rory came in running with tears in her eyes sobbing hard , she clutched her father's leg and tugging on it with her finger pointing at the door .

" it's happening again daddy " she sobbed even harder and i knew , i knew i caused it ! , i hurted her , i made her afraid , i made her cry , which caused me to shed some tears too , i hated that i had powers , that i have so much strength , that i can't control myself or live a normal life , i hate my life because i cause fear and terror to people specially children just by over thinking , the battle in my head reflects on the sky like the reflection in the merrior , and i hated it with all my guts !.

Liam already took rory in his arms , but his eyes were on me looking at me , analyzing my moves , my intentions , and i knew , i will tell him soon , yet there was this huge part of me who feared that he would run away from me , that he would tell everyone and i would be banished from here , and what surprises me that i really don't want to go , not after i met all these people , who now i consider meeting them is a huge step up for me , and talking to them too made feel a bit normal , the people who i managed to interact with after i left my comfort zone , moody town , where i left the only figure i had close to a mom and my brother .

" May i ? " i asked liam to take his daughter he seemed a little hesitant but gave her nontheless.

" Hey baby girl , would you like to come with me to show you something , a very special something , what do you say ? " she looked at her father silently asking for permession and my heart melted at the scene infront of me when liam gave her a little nod and a small smile , she looked at me a smiled , all her fears gone , atleast i have done something right , right ? .

I usherd liam to follow us upstairs where i took them to my room , i put rory on the bed and told her to wait for me , liam leaned against the door watching us .

I went to my closet , i kept searching for it , the box , the only thing left for me from my mom , i found it on the top shelf covered with dust , i blew at it , coughing at the unwelcomed sensation , i opened the lid , there was it , my mother's pendant .

It was a two birds pendant standing over a silver branch , i loved that pendant cause it was my mom's , the last thing i got from her ,I kneeled next to rory on the floor , still looking at the pendant in my hand .

" this pendant is the last thing i have from my mom since she died , it was a mother-daughter kind of thing , i want you to have it , since i don't have a daughter , whenever yoy feel afraid of anything just hold that pendant in your hand and think of me , i hope it makes you feel safe as it did with me when i was little " i said to her as i put it against her neck .

She inspected it with her hand , and a smile found it's way to her beautiful face , she hugged me tightly , and i hugged her back , liam was looking at us with a smile , he looked at me and mouthed " thank you " , i smiled .
