As the light started to dim, Milley saw the most terrifying thing she ever saw. She was so scared that she couldn’t even move she could only keep looking out of the window. In the far distance she saw a mushroom cloud that engulfed the sky above several miles just on the outskirts of town. Before she could even think she heard the loudest boom she ever head; it rattled the walls. Milley’s heart jumped a beat. She was still staring out the window and she saw it, it looked like the earth was rippling from the shock of the explosion. The ripple was in the distance but it was coming towards Milley at a high rate of speed. Milley’s life flashed before her eyes as she watched the rippling moving faster and faster towards her. BBBOOOOOOMMM!!! The shock wave hit, throwing Milley across her apartment; furniture went flying everywhere. Then suddenly… everything went black. After about 45mins Milley started to wake to the sounds of screaming and crying, calls for help rang out. Milley coughed as she sit up causing the dust to stir in the air around her. She started to look around it looked like a horrible nightmare. Not much glass was left in the windows...she looks over to her walls that held all of her pictures and noticed not one single picture was left on the walls for they were all gone and scattered within the debris. Milley sit there on the floor in disbelief, she looked down at her legs and noticed debris covering her legs. So she started to wiggles her toes and checks herself for injuries. As she is checking her self over she noticed a tremendous amount of heat start rolling across her body. Milley then starts to notice pain radiating from her head she reaches up and feels the gash in her forehead as blood was running down her face. She pushes the debris of her legs and stands up to look outside. As Milley stands up she noticed that the wall that divides her apartment from the outside world was gone. She looks down and then notices dead bodies were scattered all over the place. The once beautiful buildings were now destroyed and had fallen covering the ground. She sees several of her neighbor’s lifeless bodies scattered about where there was once a road. “Why am I still alive?” Milley thought, as she looked at the destruction. “I told you that you have an important place in the world… now hurry you have to  move get what you need and go!” A voice in Milley’s head demanded.   As Milley tries to wrap her head around what is happening she tries to see through the dirt and dust that filled the air. The surrounding building were only barely standing for the sounds that echoed from explosion did quite a lot of damage.  As Milley looked as best as she could through the smoke and dust she could see only a small piece of green luscious grass it had barely any debris and dirt alongside it.    As Milley stands there shocked trying to figure out what to do because she was quite confused. “I know I have heard that voice before” She thought.  But Milley obeyed the voice and went back into the apartment she grabbed a back pack and started to packing. As she searching through the debris and what is left of her apartment the first things she comes across are some bottles of water and a few canned items laying in the dust and debris that use to be her lovely apartment. She then went into her room searching for any first aide kits she could find. In her dresser she grabbed some needles and thread. Then ran to the bathroom found a bottle of alcohol on the floor. She picks up the bottle and noticed the bottle had been crushed and was empty. Milley threw the bottle down in the debris that was covering her floor. She was mad at the whole situation. Milley decided to just keep moving and searching for things she would need as she was instructed. Milley grabbed her back pack and threw it over her shoulder. As she started to head outside she heard some survivors talking then they started to scream in fear. Milley walked outside to see that they sky where the explosion came from was starting to turn purple. Then she notices it looked like something was flying out of the purplish sky.... “What is that” thought Milley. Whatever it was there had to be millions they was going in every direction. Milley was able to get a closer look at the creatures as they flew over top of where she stood. The creature looked to have large bat wings with stubbed horns. The skin that covered their entire body appeared to be covered with scales.  Along the creatures back you could see spikes going all the way down to the tip of it tail. At the very end of its tail was one large spike. Milley decided to take precaution and slowly creeped back into the apartment building. As she did one of the survivors let out a blood curdling scream.  All of a sudden some of the creatures came flying down and headed towards the woman As the woman ran in fear from the creatures it was futile.  One of the creatures swooped down in front of her catching her off guard. It impaled her with its large spike on it's tail right through her chest and then flew up with her body hanging lifeless from it's tail. As it flew up into the sky the creature noticed the woman still stuck on his spikes it screeched and shook the woman from it's tail and her body slid off and fell to the ground splattering all over the ground. All while this was happening some survivors hid and others were being carried away. Milley quickly shut the door to a room that she found and sat in the corner; remaining very quiet.    For hours Milley hid in the corner of that room listening to the screams and horror and terror that was going on outside. Not knowing what to do she just sit there and waited in silence. After Milley didn’t hear anything for a few hours she decided to peak outside. There was blood and gore everywhere. The only thing that was going on was the sound of rubble still settling and falling from the buildings around her. Milley knew she couldn’t stay there forever…as she looked at her watch she realized it would be dark soon. She started to think of where she could go that would be safer than where she was. “This building could finish falling any minute” Milley thought.   Milley remembered that there was an old storm cellar just down the road. Right then and there she decided that would be her best bet. She quietly snuck out of the building being very cautious of every step she took. There were no other survivors other then the blood that was left behind. The roads were stained with blood making them appear like the red carpet that celebrities walked across. Just up ahead Milley could see the cellar; she felt relieved. Just then she heard a screech from one of the creatures. The creature was coming upon her from the right. With quick thinking she ran inside of a house that was to the left. She squatted down so the creature would not be able to see her just on the other side of the window. As Milley sat there she decided to opened the curtain just enough to see what was happening. She could see the creature in the road watching almost waiting. “Did it see me?” she thought to herself. With sweat running down her face. Milley was starting to feel the fear and anxiety creeping its way through her body. Just then she could feel her heart starting to race. Her breathing was becoming labored “Stop. I wont survive if I panic….. I need some protection….. I'm not going down without a fight.” she told herself. Milley started to looked around the room. She was in search of anything she could use as a weapon to defend herself.  She noticed animal mounted on the wall. “Could be a hunter which means there has to be guns.” she thought. As quiet as she could she moved through the house looking for anything that could be of use. In the kitchen she grabbed more canned food and carefully put it in her bag. Not finding anything downstairs she decided to look upstairs. As she took each step she prayed they wouldn’t squeak.  Once upstairs she opened the first door it was a bathroom. She decided to look through the cabinets to see if anything there would be of use. In the cabinet located on the wall she was able to find some medication and a few band-aids. Under the sink she found a single bottle of alcohol and some band-aids. She grabbed the alcohol and band-aides quietly placing them into her bag. She exited the bathroom and went to the next room. As she opened the door you could see a crib “This must be a child’s room” She thought to herself. The crib was at the center of the far end of the room. There was a rocking chair to the right of the crib sitting right in front of a window with bright blue curtains.  Milley decided to walk over to the crib but was afraid of what she might find. As Milley walked over to the crib she tried to be as quite as she could. When she finally was close enough to look in; confusion rushed through her body. There was no baby; but instead a diaper and clothes laying in the bed.  Milley decided not to spend to much time trying to figure it out what had happened and left the room. As she approached the next room she finds that the door was left open. In the room you could see a desk sitting in the middle of the room facing the door. Milley walked over to the desk and looked at what was on the top of the desk. There was a small little box hidden by some papers. When she opened the box there was a small key. “This must go to the desk” She thought. As Milley walked around the desk there was only one drawer with a lock on it. She used the key and unlocked it as she opened the drawer there was a colt 45 revolver and a box of shells. As she gathered the bullets placing them into her bag she grabs the gun and stuffs it into the back of her pants covering it with her shirt tale.
