Chapter Five, The Nightmare

Aaron's POV I woke up in a panic once again from my usual nightmare, except it didn't end in the usual place it normally does. This time, it went on to show when my mother was b**tally b**ten to d**th. She died that night doing her best to hide and protect me by telling me that no matter what happened, to be quiet and stay put I didn't know why until I heard a loud banging on what I assumed was the front door at the time. a man's voice yells my mom's name, "CLAIR!!!" "WHERE THE H*LL ARE YOU!!!" I stiffen at the flash back of the memory. I don't know why all of a sudden, a suppressed memory is being brought forward. I stumble to the shower and turn only the hot water on to help my stiff muscles, I worked out for an extra hour this morning in hopes to tire my restless mind, it just wouldn't turn off. I don't know why my trauma is fully on the surface today. I rinsed off, got out, and got ready for work, I have a bunch of interviews for a new assistant this morning that I'm kind of nervous about, which is weird for me. Arriving at the office Dillon is already there waiting with my coffee and follows me up to my floor and office the interviews don't start for another hour so I have a few to distract myself from this feeling of anxiousness. The hour floats by, and Dillon informs me the candidates are here, and I tell him to send them in one at a time. The first woman walks in, and I can already tell this isn't going to be a match. I ask her to sit and start the line of questions, one after the other came in, and I was getting restless. Just as I was about to leave, the last woman came in, and I couldn't believe my eyes...
