Aaron's POV
Dillon sends in. My 10 a.m. meeting who is a journalist writer by the name of James Flank, and all I can think about is how tired I already am as good as that coffee was it isn't helping much.
He enters my office in a nice royal blue dress shirt, black slacks and shinny men's dress shoes, clearly he knows he's in a meeting with the CEO of a fashion magazine company, chuckling to myself, I stand and gesture for him to sit in the chair in front of my desk. I take a seat in my chair as he sits.
"Good morning, my name is James, I have a few questions for an article I'm writing about you!" He says with enthusiasm.
" Morning, ready whenever you are." I reply.
"Great, mind if I record our meeting? It's much faster than my writing." He says.
"Of course." I reply
"So I would like to know if owning a fashion magazine company was always the goal or passion of yours, Mr.Harding?" He asks
"Well, not initially, but I've always had a good sense of style and an eye for creativity in the clothes industry." I answer.
"Excellent, Have you ever thought about doing anything else?" He asks.
"Sure, and I definitely have the resources, I just like putting my whole heart into everything I do, means more that way." I reply
"That's definitely not the response I thought I'd get, though it's a great one." he smirks.
"Uh ok what did you expect me to say?" I ask a little gruff.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to offend, I just mean you strike most people as money driven, but it's good to hear you love what you do as well." He explains.
"Gotcha well, I hope with your colum about me, that will change." I suggest
"Definitely will do my best on your piece." He reassures me.
"I appreciate that, next question." I reply
"Do you have anyone special in your life? I know the odds of me getting the information is slim, but I can't hurt to ask." He says.
" I do not, I have a best friend who's like a brother, and that's as far as special goes!" I say firmly.
"Ok, follow up to that. Is there any reason you don't have a girlfriend or wife?"
"I don't have time for relationships, I also don't believe in them. Does that answer your question?" I say, starting to get irritated.
"Yes, I apologize for getting personal, I have pre written questions by my boss."
"I understand. How many more questions do you or your boss I guess I should say, have?" I ask.
"That was actually the last one. Thank you so much for your time!" He exclaims.
"Oh ok well great and of course. The pleasure is mine. Have a safe drive, James." I say, standing to walk him to the door.
"Thank you. Enjoy the rest of your day!" He says, walking out the door with a grin from ear to ear.
Huh, that was a bit odd, I think to myself. Realizing it is my birthday once again, I wonder if he knew that...
