A smooth day

As Yan Xia returns back from the restroom, we leave the cafè and begin our date.
It was all going smoothly we had lots of fun in shopping and trying out various snacks.
It turned out more enjoyable then what I expected, it almost felt like we were friends since a lomg time, as weird as it sounds.
Although every few minutes he made various excuses like:
"H-Hey! Chuxia cough-cough, I guess I'll be back from the washroom!"
"Cough-Cough-Chuxia! Do you want me to buy you a stuff toy? I saw a cute teddy on our way, let me go get it!"
"I'll go buy us some crapes."
Each time he made an excuse, he would cover his nose with a handkerchief and leave.
He obviously made those excuses to go and wipe his nosebleed.
Even his plain white handkerchief got stained with blood the last time he took it out.
Time passed through my wristwatch. while we began our date around eleven in the moring, the time soon passed to five, in the evening.
Which was about the time we end our date.

"Well that was fun!" said Yan stretching his arms behind the neck.
I smile while looking at him, although I hope what he said just now to be true.
We both were walking down through the streets while the sky was still orange. The sun was setting.
"Hey Chuxia..."
"Hm?"
Now he moves his glances towards me, scratching his head and smiling awkwardly.
"I don't know why, but I have a feeling like we've talked before."
"E-EH!?" I make a sound, nervously.
"I know this sounds weird, but I got this feeling like I've seen you somewhere. But I don't remember exactly where." He said as he moved both of his hand forward making a stop sign.
"HaHa...it might be your imagination. But I think this is the first time we met." I say laughing awkwardly as a cold sweat breaks through my head.
"Maybe..."
Good thing he didn't recognise me yet, perhaps he doesn't remember what happened the previous day?
As we walk a little longer, Yan Stops and turns towards me.
"I guess this is where it ends." He said with a smile.
"Hmm, thanks for accompanying me today Luke. It was very fun thanks to you."
"No worries! That's my job."
"......"
That's right, this is his job. But I still want to know if what he said were his true feelings or not, was it really fun for him?
I open the handbag hanging on my left arm and take out 600 Yuan out of it.
That was the payment for renting Yan Xia.
"......" He goes silent as I take out the money from my purse, the sweet smile he kept a while ago breaks.
He probably felt a sense of guilt inside of him.
But that's his job. Half of the money will be given to him while the other half goes to his manager. That's the deal.
I hand over the cash to him and he stares at it silently.
"Hey Luke...there's something I wanted to ask you."
"Yes?"
"Say...why are you doing this job?"
His eyes widen in confusion as he looks at my serious face.
"I've been thinking about this for quite a while...during the date you made several excuses to go elsewhere, you also looked trouble....Oh Sorry! Please forget what I just asked! It might've been senseless of me."
I awkwardly laugh it off.
"It's fine." he said with a smile and looks up towards the sky "This job gives me a good salary when compared to other ones. I want to earn a large amount of money for some personal reasons and this is the easiest way for me."
"There are a few other reasons why I'm doing this job too."
"Other reasons?"
"Yeah..."
Wind starts blowing fast making a whoosh sound as dry green leaves fly along with it.
"This job allows me to meet various people...good, bad, heart broken, someone who needs support. And most of all, it helps me overcome my fear."
When he said fear, he must've been referring to his Gynophobia, the fear of girls. Although he didn't specify it.
"Just like how my clients need some emotional support, so do I. As I spend time with them and have fun with them, It lightens my mood up, same goes to them, even if it's for a day and the next day it's someone else."
"It helps me overcome both my fear and stress. Just like how I felt with you."
Upon hearing that my heart skips a beat.
"Although this is the first time that a client asked me such a question, Talking about it to you lightened my heart up. Thank you Chuxia Ye!"
"D-Don't worry about it!" I say.
"Ok~"
"Anyways It's getting late, I think I should get going home. I hope we meet again Luke."
"Yeah..."
As soon as I turn my back, I hear something—
"—Wait!"
"Huh?" It was Yan who called out to me.
When I turn my face back towards him, he awkwardly smiles, starts scratching his head and says:
"The money...the total payment isn't actually 600, but 1000 yuan."
"—c***k!"
I turn into a gray statue upon hearing those words.
And there goes all my one year savings into drain.
