The rescue party rose early and began preparing for the day. Marco and Charles made breakfast for everyone under Andre’s watchful eye. They cooked all the food both groups had brought and heated the leftover goodies Lucy and Callum had sent with Everly’s group. The table and kitchen counters were filled to capacity for a massive buffet by the time they were ready to eat.
The children were gathered around the table, waiting for the chocolate cupcakes that Everly was passing out. Lucy had made the usual fortified cupcakes that Isla, Willa, and Brooke needed, as well as regular cupcakes for the other children. The kids were happy to gobble them down before they had the rest of their breakfast.
