It was after midnight, and Alexander was still awake. He, Sophia, and Hope had been with Arianna at his grandparents when his cousins got to play in the woods behind the pack house. That had made him irritated and unable to sleep as he continued to think about being excluded from the exertion.
He sat up and looked around his bedroom. Alex wanted to go outside, and not just outside. Alex wanted to go into the forest. He felt like something was pulling him to be there. He knew his sister, Sophia, was probably feeling the same way he did, and his cousins, Isla and Willa, would be feeling it much stronger because of their fairy magic.
Alexander tossed back his covers and slipped out of bed. He hurriedly dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie before he tiptoed down next door to his sister Sophia
