Alexander was unsettled as he lay on his bed. He kept thinking about his little cousins being taken, and it gnawed at him. He wasn’t there with them, but he knew, deep inside, that if he had been, and if he had his dragon, he would have been able to prevent it. That was when he decided. He needed his dragon.
“What’s bothering you?” his sister Sophia asked. She was leaning on his door frame with her arms folded over her chest. She invited herself in, dropping onto his bed as she said, “I can feel you brooding all the way down the hall.”
