Runaway Part 1

"Thank you for helping me clean my sparring gear." Jamie's eyes seemed to light up when Ivan said that and it made Ivan happy. He'd grown to be a good friend, supportive and always there for him. Not to mention, Jamie always seemed to be around, always had a reason to visit the Incubus Kingdom, not that Ivan minded the attention. "No problem..Ive." Ivan liked the most when he called him that. It felt like a sort of secret between the two, a pact that they were indeed as close as he thought. Jamie swung his legs back and forth on the swing. He wore a look of nervousness on his face. "Are you alright?" Ivan was uncomfortable. Had he done something wrong? Jamie didn't respond at first, clearly anticipating his next moves. Taking hold of the chains on the side of his swing, he maneuvered over to Ivan and kissed his cheek. Ivan eyes widened, his face almost as beet red as the coloring Jamie wore on his.  "What was that for?" Jamie shrugged his shoulders. He really wasn't sure himself. All he knew was that he REALLY liked Ivan. He looked down at the ground, and moved some of the dirt with his foot. "Sorry...I just..I don't know." He couldn't describe the new feelings that were inside him. The ones that seemed to only show themselves when he was around his new friend. A small smile slowly crept onto Ivan's face. "It's okay." The two shared a smile, unsure of what was happening between them, yet somehow knowing it was happening nonetheless.  "Look at the two sissy boys...of course your boyfriend would have pink hair." The older boy laughed and flicked Jamie's hair, hatred brewing in his eyes. Eight large Incubus teen circled around the boys as they sat on the swing. How hadn't they noticed their arrival? Ivan body stiffened, his eyes locked on Jamie. "God you're both so disgusting." Another kid taunted, kicking dirt towards the two. "We can't touch the little prince, but your fair game." Before either boys could process what was happening, one of the kids grabbed Jamie by the hair. He yelped in pain as they pushed him face first into the dirt. Ivan could see a small amount of blood trickle from his face. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!" He shouted with all his might.  "SHUT UP YOU FREAK!" A foot landed into Jamie's stomach causing him to see stars. Ivan trembled with anger at the sight of seeing his friend get abused. Looking around for something, Ivan spotted a rock, and without hesitation launched it at one of the bullies hitting him square in the head.  "OW! YOU LITTLE s**t!" The teen grabbed his head , attempting unsuccessfully from stopping the blood pooling from his wound.  "YOU'RE DEAD!" Ivan grabbed Jamie's arm and the the two boys made a run for it. The faster they ran, the deeper the found themselves in the woods. Neither boy spoke as they ran, both knowing if they stopped, they wouldn't make it out alive. Even with his skills and Jamie's magic, they were heavily outnumbered, it was a fight they would not win.  Ivan recognized the area, and panic washed through him. A steep cliff sat at the edge of their view, they would have to stop, they were trapped. Twigs and leaves snapped under the feet of their assailants as they heard them get closer, small snickers escaped the bullies lips. The one who Ivan hit with the rock stepped forward, his eyes full of rage. "Just like sissy's to not stand and fight." He walked towards the two boys, each step pushing them both further and further to the edge of the cliff. "We don't want the likes of your kind around here....why don't you just die." Ivan looked at Jamie one last time before closing his eyes, preparing himself for the final step off the cliff.  A gurgling sound penetrated his ears, forcing his eyes open. The large boy was choking, his neck strained, his eyes buldging. Ivan watched in horror as the boys body lifted from the ground, and one by one the other's bodies joined him. They were in agony, writhing in pain, their legs shaking, as their bodies swayed in the sky like rag dolls.  "It's..it's your sister." Jamie whispered to him, his voice laced with fear. Ivan looked down to the ground to see Addeline. Her hands spread at her sides, eyes black as midnight. Her lips were twisted in a grin that scared the hell out of him.  "Please..." One of the bullies managed to croak out but Addeline's grip only tightened. "Why don't you just die." She mocked them as she continued to pull the very life from their frames. Ivan took a step towards his sister. "Addy don't do this." He knew that his sister wasn't in control. That even though they had tried to kill him, this wasn't right. More than anything, Ivan knew that his sister took this road, she would never be able to face herself again. He joined her at her side, and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Addy-" His words cut off by a hand coming across his face. Ivan's body flew into a nearby three, his large frame landing in a thump. "IVE!" Jamie rushed to his friends side and it was then Addeline realized what she'd done. Her little brother, she'd hurt him. "Ivan..." Tears formed in her eyes as they regained their hazel hue. She looked to see the bodies littering the sky, the boys on the brink of death. One by one she released them, their bodies falling to the ground. "I'm..I'm a monster." She cried out, covering her face.  "ADDY WAIT!" Ivan tried to call out to his sister, but she couldn't hear him as she fled the woods.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Can we just end this argument!" Miccoli said exasperatedly. He and Selene had been arguing all day, and frankly, he was sick of it. Selene rolled her eyes. "Fine by me. I just think-" Feet rushing up the stairs and the slam of the door stopped her dead in her tracks. Her senses were tingling, everything heightened. Something was wrong. Miccoli eyes locked with hers. "You feel it too?" She nodded. Being the parents of kids left them open to feeling all types of emotions, but this was different. Miccoli and Selene rushed up the stairs towards Addeline's room. They could hear the chaotic sounds of item being thrown about. "Honey." Miccoli turned the knob, but to no avail, she'd locked herself in. Alarm bells rung in his head. Whatever was going on, he knew he needed to get inside. "Stand back Selene." He said sternly.  Miccoli used his shoulder to hit the door, budging it slightly. "Damn reinforced doors." He cursed out loud. The doors in the castle were extra strong, to prolong intruders, one of his own requests. He placed his ear against the door, inside he could hear Addeline sobbing which put him into a frenzy. He needed to get to his little girl. His body glowed in red aura, as he pounded his weight against the frame,, each time pushing he door further and further. Finally with one heave, the door flew off the hinges and Miccoli and Selene stepped inside. The room was a total disarray, damaged furniture, clothes torn to shreds, with no sign of Addeline. "Bug A Boo?" Miccoli tapped Selene's shoulder as he pointed to the open window, the curtain blowing steadily in the breeze. Addeline's suitcase was gone, and within seconds they finally figured it out. Addeline had runaway.
