--Addeline POV--
"Am I an asshole?" My little brother looked at me with widen eyes. As we sat in the Magical Fall, I couldn't help but to think about Luka. I hardly knew him, yet his words hit me right in the gut. Ivan fiddled with the bottom of his shirt. While many said that I looked just like my mother, Ivan was literally the carbon copy of dad. So much so, I knew exactly what he was thinking before he even said it.
"Full Disclosure?" That had become a thing between us. We'd preface anything that we were about to say with it to let the other know that we were about to make a serious comment.
"Sure"
"I don't think you're an asshole Addy..but sometimes...sometimes you say things and do things without thinking about how it effects others." My skin prickled as I stared at him.
DON'T ASK FOR SOMEONE'S OPINION AND THEN GET MAD WHEN THEY GIVE IT...THAT WILL ABSOLUTELY MAKE YOU AN ASSHOLE.
I inhaled deeply and muttered under my breath.
"You aren't mad at me are you Addy?" His pale eyes glistened over, and I felt like complete garbage.
"No punk of course not." He really did remind me so much of my father. Ivan was physically strong, tall and muscular like dad, and braver than anyone I knew. Even though he was only eleven, he battled along side my father numerous times, shedding blood without a second glance. When it came to someone he cared about however, Ivan was a complete teddy bear. He was never afraid to express his love for others, which made me always feel like he would be a great ruler one day.
"Ivan..if I ever make you feel as if I'm not taking you into consideration or if I ever hurt you in some way, please let me know." I reached out and gave him a sideways hug. Most siblings fought like cat and dogs, but from birth, I've always adored him. He nodded in my direction.
"Why did you ask that though?" I hesitated on if I should tell him or not.
"I was kinda mean to someone who didn't deserve it." Ivan laid his head onto my shoulder.
"I'm sure if you apologize...it will be okay." I wanted to believe that, but apologizing was never really my thing. Maybe it's time I tried something different.

"We're not done here." Miccoli's said through clenched teeth. Selene's heels stomped against the floors as she walked away from him, making him all the more angry. "I'm not discussing anything with you while you continue to seethe." She meant it too. Miccoli was acting like an absolute child, and she was sick of his behavior. Steam seemed to pull from his nostrils as he exhaled finally catching up with her.
"Why are you being so damn stubborn?"
"Why are you acting as if I can't make logical decisions?" Miccoli huffed under his breath. That wasn't his intention and she knew it. He hated how she was attempting to twist everything he said.
"There's something about her I don't like, Selene." She rolled her eyes. Not this again. They'd been arguing nonstop since the beginning of this entire merger. "Miccoli, I can't distrust someone just because you have a gut feeling...sometimes we have to have a little faith in people." Her eyes searched his, and his anger began to dissipate. Selene had a way of making him feel angry enough to commit g******e, and in the same breath, calm the beast deep within him. He didn't want to fuss with her any longer, though he was sure this entire thing was a bad idea, he also didn't want to spend his time going against his wife.
"If you think this is a good idea...I will support you." Standing on the tips of her toes, Selene cupped his face. She smiled a smile of relief. She really was trying to do the right thing, and she was hoping that finally she could see that. Miccoli hadn't realized how much he longed for her affection, until that very moment.
"I hate fighting you you Little One."
Then how about we get to the making up part
Her eyes glistened gold as she mind-linked him. Miccoli watched as a slow smile stretched across her face exposing her fangs. His manhood throbbed.
You little minx
"Am I interrupting something?" Miccoli body stiffened. He pulled away from Selene to face the intruder. Selene dusted her blouse in an attempt to calm her nerves.
"Not at all Madame Chairman, we were just speaking about how we're excited to see the new devices once they're done."
"Oh come on Selene, we're a little more friendly than that right? I mean you've invited me into your lovely home, and we've been working together closely. I'd hope by now you would address me by my first name." Selene felt her cheeks redden as she stared at the woman. She couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by how well she carried herself. She was much taller than Selene, athletic build and flawless skin. It was hard to not take note of her curve as she glided gracefully through the room towards them.
"Of course Melanie." Melanie gave a light airy giggle in response. Everything about her was elegant and poise, something Selene couldn't help but notice, she lacked. "Good, now that the contracts are out of the way, how about we get to know one another better? I know a few spots back home that I'd love for you to see." Selene's grin covered her entire face upon hearing the idea. "I'd love to!" She squeaked, a bit more excitedly than she had meant. Melanie responded with a small smile.
"Great, I hate to run but I really should be getting back home." Selene nodded to her. "I completely understand, I'll see if Ramsey can get the portal prepared for your departure." Selene hurriedly exited the room excited to have potentially made a new friend. Miccoli watched his wife torn. On one hand, he loved that she was so excited, but on the other, he couldn't shake the feeling that this whole thing was wrong.
"Oh stop scowling Mr.Grumpy." Melanie teased him. He glared at her in response, his face hardened as he watched a smirk play on her lips.
"You know, I'm REALLY looking forward to getting to know you better Miccoli."
"The f**k did you just say to me?"
Melanie let out a small laugh. "I said I'm looking forward to getting to know you as well. I really hope that we all can become good friends for the sake of this merger." Miccoli processed her statement. He didn't like the way she was looking at him, it made him feel dirty. Still, she technically was right, it would be good for them to attempt to all form some type of friendship to make sure everything went smoothly. Not to mention, he'd made a promise to himself that for Selene's sake he would behave. Melanie grabbed her jacket from the chair placing it over her arm.
"See you soon." She walked to join Selene, her hips swaying seductively in the wind. Miccoli inhaled deeply in frustration.
Stop imagining things
He told himself repeatedly.

--Luka POV--
"Addeline." I hear her voice once again before I see her. I sigh to myself.
I must have fallen asleep at work again
She walks towards my desk, her fire like eyes locked on me the entire time. Tonight she looks different, much more timid as if she's nervous of my reaction. She plops down in the chair across from me, and twiddles a strand of her long curly hair between her fingers.
"M-my name is Addeline...I figured I owed you that much for being such a d**k last time." That caught me by surprise.Though she looked as if she was struggle with herself, it was clear she was trying to make some sort of effort. I don't respond, but instead watch as her eyes plead with me , saying something I don't quite understand.
"It's not a problem." I say finally and I can see her exhale a little.
"No it is...I'm sorry. I had no right to snap at you...I guess I was just...I..don't know.. maybe a little jealous."
"Of me?" I arch my brow at her. She rolls her eyes.
"You just seem to have it all together...while I on the other hand can't seem to stop letting people down." Silence fills the space where her words originally were. She shifts uncomfortably in her seat, and I knew whatever she was holding in, she wasn't quite ready to talk about.
"Well if it makes you feel any better...you weren't completely wrong about me not being totally aware of my new look. I let Shelly give me a makeover, but I guess deep inside I'm still that nerdy guy that went to prom alone."
She looks at me and her face softens and I find myself having to look away. Addeline was stunning. I'd found myself thinking about her outside of my dreams much more than I wanted to admit. Even though I knew she was just a figment of my imagination, it still was crazy to me that my brain could even fathom someone as ethereal as she was.
"The girlfriend doesn't mind you sleeping at work?" I laugh at her question. " Shelly is more of a workaholic than me believe it or not. She may go out more than I do, but trust, everything about her is business."
"Seems like that would make you both perfect for one another." There was a hint of sadness in her voice.
Yeah one would think
The thought flew in and out of my head in seconds. Instead of answering her, I decided it was best to change the subject.
"Tell me something about you that I don't know." I put my hand to my chin in a thinking motion.
"I mean yeah I get you're a dream, but I don't know...you're a lot more interactive than my usual ones." She smiles and it pulls at my heart. I liked when she smiled at me, I liked it a lot. She thought for a moment.
"Hmm...well I'm in training to do something really big...something life changing."
"Oh yeah? Like what?" She waves her finger in a dismissive manner.
"Just something family related that's big...anyway...it's a lot of pressure put on me at times...a lot of people thinking I can't do it."
"What do you think?" She looks at me as if it's the first time she'd ever been asked that.
"I think..it's easier to pretend I don't care than to admit I do...and that I'm afraid to fail. Can't disappoint everyone if they're already disappointed." That made me sad. I hated that she thought of herself that way.
"You know it makes me sad you think that about yourself, when I got the feeling that you can do anything you put your mind to." The words came out so fast, I couldn't catch them. Addeline looked at me intensely and it was my turn to shift uncomfortably in my seat. She stood and walked over towards me. With her hand resting on my cheek, she spoke softly.
"So adorable." Right before softly brushing her lips against mine. This wasn't one of the kisses we'd usually shared. It wasn't filled with lust or desire, it was soft and gentle as if she was asking me was it alright. I obliged, locking my hand in her hair to pull her deeper into me. She groaned against my mouth before she pulls away from me. Her eyes tell me something yet again I don't quite understand.
"Let's make a deal." She begins.
"I want you to do something out of your element...something you've always wanted to do but was nervous about and when I see you again, I want to hear all about it as well as tell each other something else we don't know about one another." I think about her offer.
"Why would you want to get to know me?" I know it sounds pathetic, again she literally is a part of my dreams, but the idea of someone like her wanting to get to know me, still wasn't something I could process. She smiled.
"Because I think there's a lot under that straight laced mask of yours, remember...we've had some interesting interaction." I quickly remove the thoughts of me being deeply within her mouth, and she smirks knowingly at me before continuing.
"And as you say...I feel that you can do anything you want if you stepped out of your comfort zone and gave it a try." She kissed me briefly again before I had time to interject, then turned away from me.
"Oh...for what it's worth..I would have went to prom with you Blue Eyes. I saw your pictures from high school on your wall at your home...you were even more adorable, though now, you're just downright sexy." My stomach does a little flip at her words, and she smiles again over her shoulder before disappearing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Selene knocked hesitantly onto Addeline's door, and waited for her to answer. After a brief moment, she heard her daughter grumble out a small "It's open." She sighed before opening the door to enter the room.
Addeline was sprawled out on her bed. Her hair in a heap fanned around her as she looked up at the ceiling. Selene could tell she was deep in thought.
"Hey...don't want to disturb you, just thought to let you know that your uncle will be leaving tomorrow. He said he understands you're not interested in training so he's going to leave you be." Selene turned to leave, stopping only when she heard the rustle of the bed.
"Mom...I'm...I'm scared." Selene whipped around and faced her daughter. Addeline eyes locked to the mattress afraid that if she looked up, her tears would fall. Selene felt her heart in her throat. She walked over and sat on the bed, pulling Addeline into her arms. "Bug a Boo." That was all it took for Addeline to break down. She'd been holding so much in, so many doubts, so many fears.
"When I did my tasks to become queen I was terrified." Addeline sniffed and looked at her mother. "Really?" Selene let out a tearful laugh. "Completely...there was so much riding on me. I was terrified I was going to fail...terrified of letting everyone down." Addeline never knew her mother felt that way. All her life, she'd always seen her as so strong, brave and resilient, she never thought for a moment, her mother could understand her feelings.
"Then why did you do it anyway?" Selene moved Addeline hair out of her face so she could look at her.
"Because it was what was right honey. No matter how afraid I was of failing, I knew I would absolutely fail if I didn't try. Even if it completely blew up in my face, you all still deserved my best." Selene kissed the top of her head, and Addeline immediately felt calm. It was moments like this she truly appreciated her family.
"People in town have been saying they think I-" Selene raised her hand to stop her.
"If they aren't making you money, helping you succeed, loving you, or at the bare minimum, giving you great orgasms...fuck them." Addeline scrunched up her nose at the last of the comment before laughing loudly, Selene joining her shortly after.
MAMA BEAR IS THE BEST
Addeline had to agree with Legion's statement. Her mom really was the best.
"You can do ANYTHING you put her mind to you hear me? Don't you forget that." Addeline thoughts went to Luka. He hardly knew her, and yet he said the same thing about her.
"A friend told me the same thing." Selene winked at her. "Sounds like a good friend to me." She wondered how her mom did that? Was able to fill in the blanks of things she didn't completely say. She hugged Selene tightly, inhaling her scent.
"Mom..ask uncle Ramsey if he could stay a little longer...I'd...I'd like to start training."
