“Can you believe that Mark acts as though he’s so much better than me just because he’s Ida Burton’s assistant?” Brandon says. “Like she’s somehow higher in the Hollywood hierarchy than you.” He clicks his tongue as though that is the most ridiculous thing he’s ever had to consider.
I so wish I could share with him what Ida told me. He’s a flamboyant loudmouth with high ambitions of his own, but beneath all his glittery bravado, he has a heart of gold. A heart that goes out to kids who have been kicked out by their parents, which is why he spends some of his precious free time working at an LGBTQI+ helpline and volunteering at a shelter in West Hollywood.
