Chapter Twenty-One

I wake up in Ida’s room with her smell all over me. I push my palms against my closed eyes and think about this movie we’re shooting and consider that just as for our characters, a new day has come for Ida and me as well.
For Ida because she’s pushing for change, for acceptance, and, ultimately, for love. It’s a new day for me because this is definitely a new development in my life. One I’m not quite sure how to deal with. It was all well and good, and sexy and alluring, after dark by the pool. But Ida and I have to be on set in a few hours, playing the same characters we played the day before, even though neither one of us can be the same after last night.
