"Why couldn't you just listen to me, brother? Why couldn't you just accept your son, and love him? He didn't ask for everything that happened to him, but yet your hatred can't see that. Despite everything he has been through, he has turned into a fine man. I am ashamed to be your sister," I spat at my brother.
It was true, I was deeply ashamed and the guilt I feel for bringing him and his horrible wife and child to Ruby Meadows is overwhelming. I wish I could turn back time and change things. I'm sure my nephew and my long-time friends are angry with me about everything, and it's up to me to set things right.
I started to leave the cell house when I heard voices approaching. I took a deep breath, and decided to wait where I was for the owners of those voices to come closer.
